conch fritter is a island thing, not a Florida thing
Knows this. the actual conch shell comes from the caribbean, central, and south america. but certain ways they are prepared can be uniquely attributed to florida. specifically key west. in fact they can and are prepared in a variety of 27 different ways
O yea. i also forgot to add smoked amberjack dip and fried ? (soft shell turtle). those dishes have origins dating back to the days of when the florida crackers used to make them. havent seen them anywhere else either. i could be wrong though. they may exist in some of the coastal towns around the gulf in mississippi, alabama, or louisiana -
