I can see him,
He's lurking just around the corner of my eye
I must resist,
I cannot accept him, I must deny
I don't want to be enslaved,
But I don't think I can be saved,
No, not this time

(He's waiting, waiting)

(He's taking, taking)

But he will not break me!

In the silence of my soul,
I feel him try to take control
But I will fight him to the end,
I will never let him win
He has a passion to destroy,
But he will not take my voice!
In my pain, I know he revels,
But I stand here, denying the devil...

I can feel him,
His fingers closing around my heart
And so it begins,
And the rage inside me, it sparks
I do not want to be caged,
So I will push him far away,
Yes, this time

A whisper in my ear,
Comes from him, so near
I wonder if he can sense and taste,
The harshness of my fear?

Sweat falls into my eyes,
He will never get tears...

But I am still here,

Denying the devil...
