Is this supposed to be independent albums only or commercial/mainstream/major label albums too? If the latter, wrong forum; if the former, then Dr. Dre doesn't belong on the list.

No problem, changed thread title as most of your posts were for independent music :tu Props on joining the I.C and more particularly posting here.

I copped his "Worst Fears Confirmed" album when it dropped about 6 years ago lol. Dude's the definition of an emcee, should be a dope album, agreed. But the top 5 albums of this year are going to be great, I don't think any are top 5 certified guarantees.

the hype behind it to me is prob the most i had for any album.....he claims its a mix of his first and second album(two completely diff albums) with the flow from his work before he dropped a release. If it lives up to the hype then imo it will be a top 5 release easy. Only problem is with expectations this high and 6 years of waiting thats a lot to live up to.

Has he not dropped since Worst Fears Confirmed? Damn. Sounds good though, no doubt.

Atmosphere album is probably up there with CunninLynguists for me, if not a little higher.

Not the biggest Evidence fan, but he's nice without question. I have the layover EP and that's nice... For Whom The Bell Tolls was nice.

Cormega, Dead Prez and AZ would all be on my list too :tu
