Finally we have confirmation of what's shipping on day one in North America

We've known the release date. We've known the price. We've seemingly had all the details about Nintendo's North American 3DS launch except one - what games would be available on March 27, 2011, the day the system debuts? Today the publisher confirmed that its latest handheld system would ship with 18 titles. Software pricing has also been revealed.

Three first party titles will be on shelves with the 3DS - Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver and three variations of nintendogs + cats. Each of these titles will have a price tag of $39.99.

Third party software available on launch day will include: Super Street Figter IV (Capcom), The Sims 3 (EA), Madden NFL Football (EA Sports), Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami), Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts), Ridge Racer 3D (Namco Bandai), Super Monkey Ball 3D (Sega), Bust-A-Move Universe (Square Enix), Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei), Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft), Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft), Rayman 3D (Ubisoft) and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft).

Pricing on third party software was not specified. Nintendo also highlighted several of its own titles that are still targeted for a 2011 release. These include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising and "new installments in the Mario Kart series." The company's press release stated that "more than 30" titles will be available by "early June."
