Nike to Increase Prices & Cutback On Boxes...WTF?!?!?!?!?!!?

Due to the rising costs of cotton, oil and transportation, Nike will reportedly increase prices on each and every one of their sneaker models. Aside from the price increases, Nike will also cut back on the amount of cardboard it uses for every sneaker box they produce. Check out a sample of what the new sneaker box will look like.

The news caused Nike share price to drop sharply.

    Damn Nike on that Oil Company ? . Oil went up to $4.00 because of floods and wars yet the Oil Company's made bigger profits then they ever had in any companies history. Nike is already the highest shoe on the market wit the flimsiest boxes on the market yet they still trynna sqeeze every penny from the consumer, smh.

    The boxes were already getting a little flimsy. You seen the boxes the foams came in? Those boxes shouldnt be made for the Foams.

    What happens to the Bron boxes now?

    My only real issue is the prices. How much are they raising them to? Because I dont buy shoes for the box.. Plus, with the price hike, will the quality be better? Doubt it

    smh @ ? like u who don't factor in the hundreds of thousands of dollars in research and development it takes to make these shoes more comfortable, lighter, more durable, stain resistant, plus the shock absorbing cushoining technology like shox, zoom air, etc. and designers who get paid to make these shoes attractive. all china does is manufacture them. 20$??? dog u should know better since ur a sneakerhead.

    The real question is what are you ? going to do about it? Nikes BEEN overpriced but that hasnt stopped people before. If you really want something to happen decrease the DEMAND for that ? and the price will follow. They are willing to increase the price because a) they dont give a ? about you and b) they know people will still run and line up to pick up the latest iteration of throwback Jordans.
