At one point I was huge Bone fan, even had that Mo Thugs Family album.
But let's see top ten groups for me, excluding DJ/MC duos because IMO for a group in hip-hop world you have to have atleast 2 mc's:

    OutKast
    The Roots
    Wu-Tang
    De La Soul
    ATCQ
    Goodie Mob
    Public Enemy
    Mobb Deep
    Beastie Boys
    Run-DMC

    More or less that's it.

But Bone are most def in top 20 along with Onyx, Geto Boys, Black Star and many more.
And when you put DJ/MC duos they are somewhere in top 25.

They still have mad love from me.

They always get props imo, at least on this site. Great group indeed, but I hardly put them in top 5.

As much of a fan as I am, they didn't really stand the test of time, i cant go back and listen to a whole album without skipping a track or 5.

they didn't evolve well. and infighting kept them from reaching their full potential.

agree there lyrics were real repetitive

Worked with Tupac and Biggie in their primes and both of the songs were Classic. Again I don't see how they are not Top 10.

Here's how I rate their Catalog:

    1. Faces of Death - 3 MICS (This is like what Mobb Deep's juvinelle Hell was to their catalog. Bone was still discovering themselves)
    2. Creepin on the Come up - 5 MICS (One of the greatest rap albums ever and it's only an EP at that)
    3. E. 1999 - 5 MICS (Join the elite club of rap artist to drop back to back Classics)
    4. Art of War - 4 MICS (People forget that Biggie and Wu weren't the only artist to drop a dope double LP in 97)
    5. BTNHResurrection - 4 MICS (Dope album)
    6. Thug World Order - 3.5 MICS (This is when they started to go downhill)
    7. Thug Stories - 3 MICS (Without Bizzy it was just average)
    8. Strenth and Loyalty - 3.5 MICS (They came strong with this one)
    9. Uni5: The World's Enemy - 3.5 MICS (The whole group is back, solid album too)

What hurt Bone the most was the Bizzy drama, it messed up the groups chemistry but it doesn't take away from their historic catalog.

I think you give away generous high ratings like cheap candy. No offense, just how you seem to rate a lot of material.

As much as I rate BTNH (heard Art of War the other day and it was pretty dope despite the cliched double disc filler issues) there are at least ten other groups I'd rate higher.

    N.W.A
    Public Enemy
    Geto Boys
    Run DMC
    Wu-Tang Clan
    De La Soul
    A Tribe Called Quest
    Beastie Boys
    Brand Nubian
    The Roots

All would rank above BTNH and that's excluding duos like Outkast and UGK.

Well, I try to be as far as I possibly can with my ratings but at the end of day they are just my opinion, it's not like it's set in stone though I think it's factual to say Bone does have 2 certified Classics. So who's everyone favorite Bone member?. I love Bizzy but Krazyie's my favorite, his flow is just so melody and smooth, he's so sick to me:

classic song, one of my favs on AOW after all these years

"Just because Krayzie quiet, speak less

dont be mistaking my kindness for weakness

humble but ready to rumble my violent side I cant deny

I'm like a Jekyll and Hyde, gemini, look if you see me quiet, then I'm plottin' to riot."
