    Ross was/is dope (on the decline)....the impact that X's first two albums had on the game still cant be seen by Ross IMO.

    DMX is not overrated. Dude single handedly changed the game and got the whole genre away from the shiny flashy ? when everyone was looking for BIG and Pacs replacement as the top dog.....lol

    i actually feel that dmx is underrated
    folks think of dmx when they think of energy/anger/barking

    but really,dmx put out some of the hardest lyrical bars the mainstrem has ever seen
    some of the most thought provoking lines & songs

    i think his raw talent and truth/emotion is why he was able to put out 2 albums in a year and both go plat
    i member one of his albums didnt even have a real strong single for radio play,
    but folks still bought his ? like he was a pop rapper

    Not even close. I honestly can't name another rapper that was hotter for a short period of time than X was. I mean you had cats who had the streets but not the mass appeal. or vice versa. But X had them both. I think all of his first five albums went #1 on the charts while he still had the streets loving him. To top it off, DMX was a monster in the movies as well. He has been in some good movies. Music wise, X had his own style and his live shows was rivaled by few.

    At the time that I really got into X, I hadn't heard anything like dude. I wouldn't compare him to Mr. Ross because they record music that's in different lanes, both of which are very good.

    Who makes better music? Im more of a fan of DMX because its nostalgia, but in terms of playing a song now that folks will feel? Brother Ross gets play in my truck more currently then Mr. Simmons.
