Coming as close to live instrument sounds as possible

I got some beats stuck in my head I need to get em out. I dabbled with Fruit Loops years ago, but I hear people talkin about pro tools all the time. What do yall recommend?

Thanks!

it really doesnt matter what program you use if you can use it full on....I use FL, I can chop, mix, master, edit ? all day...my cousin uses Reason, does the same thing, his boy uses pro tools, same ? . I also know many people that use all of the aforementioned and suck at doin anything on them. You just gotta find one and get hella comfortable with it and try to master it. Learn the ins and outs, then you can actually start puttin what comes to your head on wax.
