    Smoke weed
    Get some ?
Buy a new pair of Jordan's
    Play Xbox.

    so basically your advice is

    - alter your conscious and run from your problems
    - find validation through sex rather than independent means so that you become dependent on external sources of happiness
    - be a good little consumer ? and put money in Jordan's pocket
    - Escape your depression via virtual reality.

    Terrible advice.

Topics like this though I usually avoid, mainly because there's always ignorant muhfuckas that make light of it or don't take it as seriously as they should.

Is the same with alot of mental health issues and thats also why black folks are the most succeptible to these disorders, nobody takes the ? seriously.

I have a friend whose brother ate his pistol over depression. The only thing traumatic that happened to him was the his father left his mom and the divorce brought out all kinds of ugly family secrets, dude lived with that ? for years and never got checked out, eventually he said "? it" and blew his own brains out.

Unless you've really experienced it you can't tell people how to deal with it, there's no telling how folks react to adversity or traumatic situations.

Wisdom. ? stay talkin ? about serious issues on the IC like Real Life is a ? Juicy J mixtape or summin. Wake the ? up. Half of you lying ? prolly depressed as ? on the low anyway. If black ppl suffer disproportionately from every other medical malady, what makes you think that same problem doesn't apply to MENTAL health? Oh right because black men never commit suicide and our crimes make sense blah blah blah.

I think what he's saying is just do the things that best make oneself happy. I don't judge those going through it and some may know this already but I actually attempted suicide 5 years ago. I jumped forty feet onto the street from a subway platform when I was really down and out about a severe acne episode. I've made a full recovery (thank ? ), have very clear skin now (I've realized I'm allergic to too much sugar) and consider myself in pretty good mental health, but being happy for SOME people is just doing all the things you like doing in life. In my opinion, you can't really be happy unless you have some financial security, healthy self esteem and less stress then the avg person. That and having the basic needs of life as well, and in MY personal case, not having kids. Everyone is different though.

I don't know how accurate this is, but I generally see depression in two forms: "casual" and clinical. Everybody experiences the former. It's just a part of life for various reasons depending on the ? we have to put up with in life. It's inevitable and will separate the strong from he weak. There's a variety of treatment available: psychological, chemical, recreational, etc. But I only trust good/true philosophy as a "preventative remedy" and treatment.

As for clinical depression, I don't know too much about that and gladly never have experienced it. Mental illness unfortunately requires one to experience it in order to truly understand and perhaps successfully cure it.

What I can't stand, however, is when people throw pity parties for themselves and feel so sorry for themselves and end up doing nothing to help themselves.

my theory is that everyone has an innate desire to be valued
and depression arises when they are unable to convince themselves that they are of value

My depression stem's from child abuse, teenage abuse, and [some]adult abuse, so it's just become a part as if it's a part of my character

My doctor said I was depressed and wanted me to take pills.. I said no.. seen what it has done for my sister who is also bipolar.

Dad was an alcoholic wife beater. Beat us also and in one encounter told me at 10 yrs old to hang myself and left a rope on the kitchen table. Told me later when he was ? that it was a joke. My Mother (may she RIP) told him she was leaving, he threatened to shoot us all.

eventually we left. I turned to alcohol. Drank for approx 10years hard, while still holding down jobs.

to beat the ? thoughts in my head, steered clear of negative people. Gave music that dwells on bad ? the trash. Gave up drinking. Gave up smoking cigarettes. Quit seeing/speaking to my father. focused on eating well, exercising and generally keeping alot of positive things around me.

I still get ? thoughts but everything in my life is now right for me.

I would suggest that you spend sometime by yourself someplace quiet where you can recharge your batteries. Get yourself a good noise cancelling headphone or better yet put up sound absorption panels on your walls to make it a good quiet room. You can also take it one step further and spend time in the dark. You may not know this put most of the light we use for reading books, looking at tv, eating dinner or not needed. And the overuse of that light can be parasitic and drain your body of energy. People all over the world have been going to Thialand for Dark Room Therapy for years. This video explains it...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLMF2bWpKEQ

According to the video Dark Room Therapy decalcifies your pineal gland. The pineal gland affects your melatonin and your melatonin in turn controls your mood and sleep patterns.

This is what some sound absorption panels look like.

    University_of_Salford_Anechoic_chamber_current.jpg

they are also called acoustic or anechoic panels. They are affordable too. For a small room you can get it for about the same amount you pay for a $300 noise cancelling headphone. This is the same material they use when singers record their songs in the booth.

Your body has been abused not your mind. I can ensure you that you are already on the good path to get rid of it because you aknowledge your depression which is the hardest to achieve.

There was a lot of mental [psychological] abuse, as well. Like you said, I've acknowledged it, and the healing process, is the hardest part, it does take [a lot of ] time
