True. I'm thinking about transitioning and instead of doing a big chop, I might just get my hair braided.
-
Maybe off topic but whats the difference between cornrows and braids?

Funny thing is, most of the braids that you posted in these pics aren't these women's natural hair. -

They get their hair braided as a way to maintain and grow out their natural hair....natural meaning without any chemicals. -

yeah but it is an african style. Braids are associated with black women. and I love it when black women embrace there ethnic beauty. Braids have been used on black women for centuries to protect their hair. All of these women in the videos are natural btw. I dont think you will ever see a black women who perms every week and wears beyonce lace front wigs to wear poetic justice or box braids these days. These women opted for braids because not only does it help promote new growth it doesnt look eurocentric and synthetic like striaght hair weave. Thats something that they are trying to get away from. -
I luv a woman with nice hair. Long or short.

I have dreads now but when I was transitioning from relaxed hair to natural I wore braids a lot. They were kinda hard on the edges though.

Braids and cornrows are better than the cancer ass perms that our women put in their hair.

pretty hair aint a slick ass shiny perm. stop being ignorant. its giving us cancer. it aint against the law to put poison in our hair because the white people like that we are killing ourselves -

its because braids=blackness and people have been brainwashed to believe that anything associated with blackness is ghetto or unclassy. -
as long as a white person doesnt try to rock them, there all good

Why can't white woman wear them? Do you think hair styles send a message? -
braids or well-kept dreads on a beautiful woman = instant seduction
I'm instantly drawn in -
Not really feeling it, looks nice on them though.
