Ready To Be Green With Envy?
The Muppets trailer is here!

24 May 2011 | Source: Facebook

Now this is clever, folks. Eschewing the usual flashy trailer and launch announcement, the team behind The Muppets have instead kicked off the promotion on the pic by releasing a stealthy little teaser trailer that at first appears to be for something entirely different – before revealing its true nature. And you can watch it below.

Yes, we’re treated to what looks like a trailer for a none-more bland generic rom-com called Green With Envy. Except it features Jason Segel and Amy Adams, and we all know what they’ve been working on this year. But to keep the ruse up, the Muppet gang A) aren’t introduced until near the end for a random blast (literally, in one case) of fuzzy-fuelled scenes and B) there’s even a poster up for the alleged gentle romance pic.

There’s not a lot to learn about the actual pic itself here, other than the essentials – that Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest are in it – but it’s certainly a change from the average blockbuster trailer. Plus there’s still plenty of time for more before the movie arrives on February 17…

Check out the teaser and let us know your thoughts. The poster is available at Green With Envy's "official" Facebook page.

Muppets Green Lantern Spoof Trailer Hits
    'Not in Swedish... promise'
    16 June 2011

? it's a good day to be a Muppets fan. First of all we hear the news that The Muppets will be making their presence felt (pun intended) at Big Screen, now there's another Muppets parody trailer on the net too! And it takes the ? out of Green Lantern! Amazing!

So exclamation marks all round for Jason Segel, Amy Adams and the rest of the Muppeteers, because following on from your previous Hangover trailer parody you've managed to keep this little gag going and not lose any of the laughs.

So without any more faffing about, here's the Green Lantern-themed number, complete with a special piece of Swedish Chef-ery right at the very end. All together now: "Birdie birdie birdie..."

Oh, wait, and there's a poster too!

Directed by James Bobin, The Muppets is out in the US on November 23 and arrives over here on February 17.

    The Full Muppets Trailer Arrives
Get ready for Muppet ? ...

18 June 2011 | Source: The Film Stage

We’ve had a couple of clever parody trailers for The Muppets, but sooner or later it was going to be time for Kermit and co to deliver a real, honest batch of footage for their new film. Well, it turns out that sooner is actually this weekend, as the first full promo is now live and you can watch it below.

There’s not a load of plot crammed into this first real look at the movie, though the central idea of getting the felt gang back together (to help save their old theatre from the clutches of grasping oil baron Chris Cooper, in case you’d forgotten is here), but what we do get is two minutes and 14 seconds of pure Muppet joy. A few pratfalls, some nice lines and Fozzie wearing ? shoes. Yes, the usual high class offerings from the team, there.

And it’s nice to see that there’s a wide variety of the regular Muppet cast showing up for this one, alongside Jason Segel as Gary, Amy Adams as Mary and new character Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan.

If this doesn’t bring a smile to your face, you might want to check your pulse. It’ll be time to play the music and light the lights next February. But don’t forget that if you can’t wait that long, you’ll be able to get a unique opportunity to see footage and meet the characters at our Big screen event running 12-14 August…

    New Muppets Parody Trailer Online
The Pig with the Froggy Tattoo!
15 September 2011 | Written by Phil de Semlyen | Source: YouTube

We're not sure which Muppet is in charge of marketing (okay, we've checked, it's Dr. Bunsen MSc) but they should take a big bow. The Muppets trailers have been a thing of furry genius. First there was that Hangover parody, then came the Green Lantern spoof and now, freshly in webworld, is this inspired 'Froggy Tattoo' riff on, well, you-know-what.

For newcomers to The Muppets movie, the story picks up with the world's biggest Muppets fan, Walter, uncovering a fiendish plot by oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to destroy the Muppet Theatre. The furry fanboy begs his idol, Kermit, to help him and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams), organise a telethon to raise $10 million and save the venue.

So which movie homage is next on the Muppets fond trailer-thon? Pigs in Space do Prometheus? Statler and Waldorf's Another Year? Or a Martin Scorsese concert doc of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem? Or all three? Please.

Kermit and the gang will be playing a cinema near you when The Muppets lands here on February 17. If you're in the US, you can see it from November 23. We're assuming there'll be plenty of advance screenings in Greenland. Bork!

    New Muppets Character Banners
    Kermit! Animal! Dame Piggy!
    04 October 2011 | Written by Helen O'Hara | Source: Hollywood.com

Every single thing we've seen from the new Muppet Movie so far looks pretty ? awesome. From poster to other poster to trailer and parody trailer, via a barn-storming, crowd-winning appearance at Empire's Big Screen event (whereat our Chris conferred a Damehood on Miss Piggy), it's all gold. And now here's a new set of character posters that continue that tradition by being freakin' awesome.

It helps, of course, that the character design is so iconic that you basically have to point a camera at these folk to end up with a great poster - but still. Good work! Many pats on many backs.

The Muppets is out on November 23 in the US, and February 10, 2012, in the UK, in an example of blatant discrimination in favour of their country of origin. Haven't you forgiven and forgotten that whole Revolutionary War thing yet? Seriously.

    New Muppets Trailer Is Here!
    Let's travel by map...
14 October 2011 | Written by James White | Source: Yahoo

Well, it had to happen sometime. After several truly inspired trailers, it was only natural that Kermit and the gang would trip up and put out a bad pro.... Oh, who can keep that ruse up? The new Muppets trailer is here and it's bleedin' brilliant! Stop reading this and watch it below.

This is the second full theatrical trailer for the movie, and while it doesn't boast a parody theme, it's packed with the sort of Muppety goodness that makes us think the film will be truly special. From little pop culture gags to winks at cinema in general (who doesn't want a "travel by map" button in their car now?) it's a winner through and through.

The plot, for the two people still unaware, finds Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan recruiting his brother (Jason Segel) and big bro's girlfriend (Amy Adams) on a trip to meet his heroes. When they discover that the gang's old theatre is under threat from an evil oil baron (Chris Cooper), they set about rounding up the fuzzy friends to launch a telethon and save the place. Cue madness, music, mockery and everything we love about the Muppets.

The film arrives in America on November 23, and it's enough to send us into an animal-style frenzy that we have to wait until February 10 to see it over here.

Final Muppets Parody Teaser Is Here
    Ready for Breaking Prawn?
27 October 2011 | Written by James White | Source: YouTube

All good things must come to an end, we suppose and so it’s with heavy heart and light kidneys we announce that the Muppet gang has decided that they’re done with parody trailers for the new film. Well, after this latest, mega-meta-mash up, which you can see below!

Yes, after the likes of the Hangover spoof, the Green Lantern nod, and the epic Pig With The Froggy Tattoo, now comes one that not only acknowledges that Team Muppets have been doing these for a while now, but also manages to spoof their own parody-driven tendencies. Oh, and still finds time for quick winks at Paranormal Activity, Happy Feet, ? In Boots and Breaking Dawn.

One of the best trailer campaigns to happen along in yonks, this has made us all the more excited to see the pic. Which, in case you forgot, finds dedicated Muppet fan Walter, big brother Gary (Jason “The” Segel) and his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) rounding up the fuzzy gang with Kermit’s help so they can put on a telethon to save their old theatre from demolition at the hands of nasty oil baron Tex Richman (Chris Cooper).

While lucky American types get to see the final product over Thanksgiving (the release date is November 23, to be exact), we have to wait until February 10, 2012. Which, as we think you’ll agree, is simply Not Fair.

New Muppets Trailer Hits The Web
    It's Slumfrog Millionaire
10 November 2011 | Written by Phil de Semlyen

We've had the Green Lantern one, The Hangover one, the Dragon Tattoo one, the Paranormal Activity one, the normal one and now it's Bollywood's turn. Yes, The Muppets have headed east for another one of their loving, trailer-shaped homages.

We think they may just have been fibbing when they said they were done with the pastiche trailers but, hey, it's a Muppet fib so it doesn't count. Tune in, kick back and let everyone's furry friends sing and dance you into Friday evening. Yes, we know it's Thursday but it's 24 hours of fun.

This could well be the final, final pastiche trailer (cue: The Muppets do Tree Of Life), so just to recap: Muppet fan Walter rounds up big brother Gary (Jason Segel) and his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) to help him recruit Kermie and the gang and save their old theatre from demolition. The man to hiss at? Greedy oil maniac Tex Richman (Chris Cooper). Booooo!

The Muppets is out in the US on November 23 and arrives over here on February 17.

I saw somewhere there's a petition going around for Kermit and the Muppets to replace Eddy Murphy as the Oscars Host.
    I'd support that.
