Kobe left a hall of famer to win a title on his own...he just wanted that challenge to prove he could win as the main guy....and succeeded twice in a row

Lebron left his team, and joined a hall of famer, who's already won a title, so he can win one...as a part of a dynamic duo

what part of the game is that?

Cavs went from 61-21 to 19-63 when Lebron left. Just shut the ? up and as much as Kobe was the main guy, he still had Phil Jackson the goat coach and a All Star dominant big man in Gasol and another dominant big man with Bynum.

I think people saw how ? those Cavs teams were this year, you think Kobe could lead that Cavs team to 61 victories?

Lebron >>> Kobe... face it and get over it... Kobe = volume shooter and scorer that offers little else (see paltry rebounding assist and rebounding numbers as well as ? shooting percentages). Lebron scores on Kobe's level (over 25PPG) as well as passes and rebounds @ A significantly higher rate.

Are we going to just conveniently forget this ......

this was right after he quit on his team in game 7 after blowing that 3-1 series lead against the Suns
Kobe wanted to trade Bynum and wanted to leave until they got Gasol

you guys are focusing on right now today........thats not fair as LBJ is in his prime while Kobe is 33 in 3 months

    2006 -2008 Kobe >>>>>LeBron today
im on more of a legacy comparison type of discussion. All those stats dont include work ethic, ruthlessness, the attitude of pushing yourself to a limit no one thinks you can achieve.
Kobe is an average size 2 guard but never has athleticism of Vince Carter is his prime or hangtime of TMAC...he just worked harder...LBJ is just this era's version of Wilt...physically dominating and a stat stuffer.
Wilt went to LA to join the Logo and ELgin Baylor to win a ring
LBJ went to MIA to join Wade and All Star Bosh
remember when Kobe was gna leave LA....the youtube video said "get a Bulls jersey"....that ? was gna go to CHI and play with Deng and Ben Gordan......not trying to push fpr a trade to SA to "team up with Duncan..
i give the man his props bcuz in 05 it was "you cant win without SHAQ" and he did that
now its he cant win without PHIL>>>>>we will see if he does that

wow.. talk about revisionist history.. kobe did not leave a HOF.. he forced shaq out.. because his ego couldn't handle the fact.. that he was playing second fiddle to shaq.. after that there was the infamous 2006 playoff series vs the suns.. then kobe went on that summer bitchfest.. where he went on every sports radio station in america.. saying he wanted to be traded.. and then right after he did all that.. kobe tried to get the lakers to trade their best young asset in bynum.. so once again he threw another teammate under the bus.. to feed his ego.. finally the lakers got gasoft given to them by memphis.. and kobe got low post presence.. that he has to have in order to get him to the finals.. and to somewhat his credit the lakers won twice.. even though he made it hard w/ his constant need hog the ball...

splittin hairs... point is he got it done without the 2nd HOFer

all that other stuff about ego is irrelevant since he still produced at a championship level on the court for 2 straight years
    ^^^^^^^
    no exaggeration, all facts.

Gasol will make it to the Hall of Fame whether you like it or not, dude is a perennial all star and a NBA champion, you ? ? me with this trying to diminish someone accomplishments to big up Kobe. Like Gasol ain't a big part of the reason why the Lakers won those titles.

Gasol averaged 1.8 bpg, 9 rpg, 19 ppg in the 2009 finals
Gasol averaged 2.6 bpg, 11 rpg, 19 ppg in the 2010 finals

But of course, you're gonna blow it off

As much as I'd hate to throw gas on this tired flame -- I gotta agree.

Winning multiple rings + perennial All-Star seasons = HOF.

And that's in all four major sports leagues.

He will. Trust. That formula never disappoints.

Go and check all the current hall-of-famers in all leagues. It ain't a bunch of Michael Jordans and Jerry Rice's. It's mostly "good" players that played on "great" teams. It ain't as prestigious as you're making it out to be.

TP may not be first ballot, but he'll make it. Mos Def. Especially if he has at least one more all star season.

So we are gonna assume that Kobe hasn't been patient those few years he got bounced out the first round with a starting line up full of players who weren't good enough to start when they left LA?? He was a monster wasting his prime years full of bums and he should continue to sit back and wait for the execs to come to their senses?

Come on son....he was a major reason Lakers won those rings, he was still young, leader on the court, dealt with personal issues outside of basketball and still played the best ball of his career individually and y'all don't think the Lakers front office owed it to their best player to bring talent there???

Wwhy can't we assume he asked nicely many times before he went on that tirade? ? can't play ball forever and he knew that....and obviously his "bitchfit" worked...? brought him he overdue MVP and two Rings to boot....we gotta stop this Kobe hate forreal

ROFL. A ? who averaged 20 TWICE in his career and could never win a playoff game is "Dominant". and Im not even going to respond to this ? calling Bynum dominant. Pau has averaged 20ppg twice in his entire career and is notorious for being soft and only has 2 rings. His career numbers are matched and exceeded by a long list of power forewards in the game today and his averages are only going to decrease as he gets older. ? aint no HOFer, his numbers dont support it and he wont make it

All parties including Shaq have admitted he aint force Shaq out. Take the ? out your mouth spacejammer and speak the facts.

FACT Lakers were the 1seed BEFORE Gasol got there. FACT Kobe almost beat the suns when they won 60+ that year and Kobe had a worse team than Derrick rose had against the heat AND Lebron had in Cleveland. Kobe aint average shooting no ? 20% in the 4th/OT wasnt going 6-28 and ridiculous ? like the MVP.

No one does, we aren't claiming Gasol is the best player on the Lakers. He is the sidekick, just like Kobe was the sidekick on the Lakers with Shaq.

Gasol was an all star player before coming to the Lakers, no reason to assume he wouldn't of continued to be an all star and win a title down the line somewhere. Don't act like Kobe made Gasol!
