How Do I My Music Played on the Radio

I got a lot of friends trying to do the independent artist thing and their music is good. They can't seem to get local radio stations to play their music. Was wondering if anyone had some insight?

    You need to pay a radio promoter or get a super street campaign where ppl request it.It's mostly about money
