It's only $25.00 on Amazon and has a wealth of knowlege on body building. Schwartzenegger talks about everything from dieting, routine, show preparation, cardio, anatomy....its a good read and great reference. I bring it up because I've seen crazy talk on here like decline is pointless, and stretching will lead to injury if done before working out.....crazy ? . I'm not saying Arnold is the be all end all of lifting because the ? develops and changes all the time. And myths are constantly being formed or debunked. But if anybody knows their ? relative to a subject it's him.

I never said that stretching will lead to injury if done before a workout, but it can increase the incidence of injury. I'm not talking crazy as I am a certified personal trainer myself.

Oh and P.S. Don't take his workout guides as gospel, unless you're running gear. Most dudes over train and that can be counter productive. It is a great reference bible for developing your own workout routines or are stuck in a rut in terms of specific exercises. I don't use it for anything more than a workout wikipedia.

naw actually Emerald City is right...if u do static stretching before working out u increase the risk...u should warm-up first and then stretch, preferably ballistic stretching IMO...and decline bench like i said in that thread is a matter of opinion...if it works for u then good...if u don't see a difference then good as well

I'll check it out. Always good to get other references.

Yep, well worth the money though -
Oh I know, I've owned two copies. The first falling apart from use haha. For the basic weight room knowledge it gives it well worth at least twice what you pay for it....especially seeing as how some of these fitness gurus will gouge you to death on their books.

Well it worked for him obviously, and I've had much success. To each his own but I think he's a better source than anyone on here.

I spoke in general terms....you feelin' some kind of way about it. -
Read it, theres alot more better books than that in my opinion. Alot of the workouts with all that High Volume ? he try to put out was when he was all roided up.

Nah, no feelings caught. You called it crazy talk and I stand by what I type here and on the fitness forums I frequent. If anything, you were the one talking reckless. -
Arnold seems so fake at this point, I am totally anti Arnold. Is it worth reading?

It's a good beginner's reference guide. Don't try and follow the workouts, but the basic anatomy and physiology, discussion of how to split up the workout, and the different exercises are simple a a good starting point.
