Could a kid in the poorest region of Africa pray his way out of his situation?
I think the "American" idea of prayer works because we live in "the land of opportunity".
If I want something bad enough, pray about it, WORK TOWARD IT, and am patient. It can very possibly come true.
But if a starving child in Sudan prayed for a turkey sandwhich...........................................what then?

Duh, clearly no one in Haiti prayed, "Please don't let my poor country be stricken with a devastating earthquake."; or else it would not have happened.

No, see, ? doesn't give you anything you can't handle.
Except earthquakes. -
if you work hard for it then yes

Except earthquakes.
That means people don't need to try to help them, since it's something they must be able to handle. -
Concrete evidence? There's a lot of concrete lying around the ground on top of Haitian children right now. Guess they didn't work hard enough in combination with their praying.

So does prayer work for everyone -- and if not, how does ? determine which prayers he shall grant? -

This isn't reported often, but it's a verifiable fact that the Sudanese are ? and deserve what they get. It's true. -

talk to a preacher. my answers are based on my personal thoughts not the bible. i think it works for anywho who ? sees fit to grant their prayer. maybe the ones with the most faith. either way it goes, he always looks out for me. and if something horrific happens i know its apart of His plan. -
Ive known prayers have worked for me ? works at the right time when you need it theres been plenty of times where I needed money and ? hit me with a way to pay everything when I needed it
-

if he has a big plan, why are you asking him to mess with it with your prayers? -

to me what happened in Haiti is a blessing in disquise. i refuse to believe that ? DID this to them. this horrible event will awaken people ALL around the world to the struggles o the people there. and they will get the attention and support they need as a country to thrive. and no longer be ignored

at EVERY decision in ur life there are 2 choices, right? ? gives these to us so we can decide what is best. (or what we think is best). His plan isnt set in stone because of these choices. thats where prayer comes into play-so we can figure out the best route for us -
Damn, I guess no one prays for those starving Sudanese kids.
RIP Starving Sudanese Kids -

so lemme get this straight
? knows everything, including of course, the future
and he has a divine plan
but its not set in stone, he'll change it if you ask nicely
even though he already knows exactly how the future is going to turn out
righti refuse to believe that ? DID this to them
