When did the WWE "Smackdown" World Title become so SECONDARY?

there was a time when guys like Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, taker, Angle, Big Show and others held that belt and it was considered on the SAME level as a WWE Championship belt on RAW... but now all the arguments suggest otherwise...


Oh ya Booker T was a World heavyweight Champ but on Smackdown...this year was CM Punk's first title reign.. the Smackdown stuff don't count (even tho I think he beat Edge for it in 2008 or 2009 when he cashed his MITB on RAW)...

he;; even when Jeff hardy held it in 2009 it was considered significant again..

Was it when JBL won it? Khali? Rey?

All I know is this sentiment has been around for a long time way b4 Ziggler and Swagger ever touched it..

    Brock became the Undisputed champion bring the "WWE" title to Smackdown after the Draft, then HHH received the WCW World title on RAW a few weeks later.. for what? I dunno .. maybe by winning the Elimination Chamber? Then somehow the titles switched from RAW to Smackdown, Smackdown to RAW and it's been that way ever since.

    And I like Swagger, but I feel like this was the moment that I felt was going to be a good change.
    But......from this point forward it was "Over".
    Not because Swagger had the title, but because of how he carried it.

    **Prime Example**
    Jack Swagger = The 1st WHC (Post wCw era) they made look like a "Weak/Soft & Complete ? "

    - Attempted to cash in title shot at Raw on March 29, 2010 for a WWE Championship shot against John Cena. Match never started as John Cena was not incapacitated enough for Swagger to easily defeat.

    -Cashed in title shot at SmackDown on March 30, 2010 (broadcast on television on April 2, 2010) for a World Heavyweight Championship shot. Defeated Chris Jericho after he was speared by Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

    Or better yet, one could go deeper and say that:

    The matches should atleast be set a week in advance. Or just have the winner challenge for the title at SummerSlam.

    in Vince's mind, itz always been secondary because it was the NWA/WCW belt, not the WWE belt. They only brought it back just to say Triple H was champ again

    Well to be honest only the WHC has been considered the SECONDARY title...not just Smackdown....u gotta remember that from 2002-2005 that when the WWE belt was on Smackdown it was WELL represented the only champs were Lesnar, Angle, Guerrero, JBL, and Cena

    now that I think about it....BOTH belts were VERY well represnted back then...(waaay better than now at least)
    because the same exact time period (August 2002-June 2005) the only WHC Champs were Triple H, Goldberg, Benoit, Orton, Batista


    but to be honest the belt went down when they let Mysterio rock with it after Wrestlemania 22.....by the time Jack Swagger held it it was already way devalued

    he could have been a big deal but the WWE can't book for ?

    in its 50 year history,only 40 men have held the wwe title
    in the world titles 9 year history,20 men have held it
    but in my opinion, the title lost credibility when this ? won it

    Yeah, I picked up on that long time ago.

    Also to me the WHC seems to be more of a "tester belt" for some guys. If a guy can get over with that belt, then he can move on to the WWE championship.

    wwe always did ? on that title. I guess because it's not a home grown belt, they feel they can do what ever with it. Same with the US championship (if that ? is still around). I'm about to sell mine. I remember when rick flair brought it to the wwe back in the day and they would censor it out with a fuzzy box because it was still wcw property.

    ? was always a secondary title being that it was the wcw belt.
    Its on smackdown.
    And now there calling the wwe championship the "undisputed championship" that ? on it even more, i figure holding both the wwe & whc would make u the undisputed champ guess vince thinks else wise

    Eric Bischoff handed HHH the World Heavyweight Title on Raw since the undisputed title was on Smackdown. Then that became the main belt until Cena took the WWE title to Raw and Batista took the World Heavyweight title to Smackdown.
