true dat. but jay-z was the first rapper to become bigger than hip hop. diddys a suit who rapped to get his label on the map. he never was a true rapper like jay or big so its you cant really compare them.

The whole "bigger than Hip Hop" shtick is just another form of narcissism in the culture and it really holds no power for the actual artist...it's like the artist that wants to hold that title trying to be "separate" from Hip Hop due to the bank account and his life being viewed throughout the mainstream 24/7 but really is not, so BackInWhite has a point. -
