Born in1970 something
5 pounds 10 fingers plus toes
father pastor while mother would cast
the skillet with good ol fashion cooking
book of old souls that carry on legacy
so beautiful this little boy was
cries at a normal pace
smiles with heavenly grace
knew his place in the play pen
and loves the smell of a mother's scent
this child was truly heaven sent
with the sound of a pure angel
at the age of 6
singing in front of his father's church
in the family section while old ladies dress
to impress Jesus like he's the best
the choir would sound lovely
as he carry a note with a spirit trip
time to establish this youngin to the masses
at 13 learn the trumpet
played the keys like a young Stevie
look like prince on the m.i.c
and bring Jesus as time brings
meanwhile home life isn't what it used to be
father beats on him while mother weeps
falling out like Jesus juice cranked into two
he kisses the ground as the father beats him to a clue
DON'T DO THAT AGAIN DEVIL COME OUT
he sure did at 22
singing for a church of a few
Holy Tabernacle Elizabeth Religious ? of Holy Land and Prosperity
Elder Jesus of Higher grounds making and moving boulders and freeing spirits
Church *take a breather*
as he relieve the spirit speak of tongue to the ones attended
choir leader hates the man
hes different but in high demand
girls throwing panties and dancing to the holy vocals
lands a deal at 24 with a record label for gospel reach
first album: love the lord and touching heaven
lands at number 3 on the gospel charts
beating Rev. Keith Iverson and family of ten
but losing to Donny Franklin
the album is considered a smash to the radio
even a cross over single entitled: I Care for you
lands in singles of ladies ages 18 to 32
old ladies and elders hate the shenanigans
"hes not holy" says them false teeth beholders
rumors spread as well as ego
he's on the top while lifestyle is illegal
met a woman...childhood friend at 18
she hates his non loving ways
abandon him and divorce for a sign of change
drinking and partying at clubs where the pastor wouldn't see he
got caught up and forgot Jesus is the key
on knees begging lord please to release from the limbs that bind thee
second album with a open arm twist
a group of 20 singing like the foundation
anticipating album: The Joy of Jesus...vol 1 through 3
song of the year: I Need Replenishing
gospel awards, tears and new beginnings for the singer
father still disagrees with his ways but appreciates his degree
mother is mother...tears for her baby
a month or so later after success
comes the break up....scandal- non payment of royalties
the record company not agreeing with thoughts of his
tours oversees and a new image
Rodman style...naked on the cross
hair spiked to the third degree
emo tripping and dipping to new lengths of sinning
towards the eyes of church but not to the fans of many
die hard fans that love him since debut
label drops him and he goes independently
making albums entitled: Father/ Unite/ Crosses/ Kindly/ Unitedly
a middle finger to the industry that accused him
made him out to be a nuisance
and the churches that threw holy water on thee
reality comes as a shocker
the closet opens and so did the story....
Gospel Artist caught with a ?
his words "Only ? can Judge Me"
indeed the plea
father lost touch with him
mother gone from her baby
alone in the zone
hotel room alone
gun out the drawer
to the head...click no bullets
the bible next to the lamp caught his interest
and the words in the head
"for what is lost...you will gain if you believe in thee"
"we backslide but we are redeem if you believe in he"
the tears pour slowly
fast forward to the church where his father passed
mother in the old folks home from natural ways
the mic is there and the pastor gives him a clap
sings "I'll fly away" as the audience gets up and shout away
the spirit of his father and mother's love
is flowing through his voice
the church folks cheer in a way of forgiveness and sorrow
no longer this fellow is a enemy to those that escape such enemies
but a saint that's closer to ? than his critics think
