Why do people blatantly look over Melo's and Durant's lack of defense?

What do these ? do other than score? All i hear is this best player nonsense but neither one of these fools can lock down their men or make a consistent effort to rebound and do other things other than score.

At least Howard, Wade, Lebron, Kobe, Paul, etc play both sides of the ball.

For the same reason no one mentions a racehorse's hauling ability.
They are there for one thing and its not defense.

Bruh u had to run into Lebron in person and things didnt go your way or something, now it's just getting weird .....

Thread Title Said Melo & Durant bruh

Co-Sign , ? is just weird now , not even logical sports discussion just a Bron Bash like u said ..

Lets be real, we know usmarine is a lebron hugger (just being honest)... lets keep it funky... He knows what this thread was about.

BUt lebron was just an example... he mentioned "best player in the league"... we all know lebron universally has that title right now.

But to the main point... All I was trynna say is individual defense is overrated, period. individual offense / defense is like 80 / 20 or 85 / 15 ...

If Melo is an 85 on offense, durant an 85, and lebron an 85... Then lebron a 14 on defense... Melo a 6.. Durant a 7... the ? aint as bad as if defense and offense was 50/50... thats all I was trynna get across...

PS: Melo clutch Gene is 10, Durants 10, Lebrons 3.... This is why some will argue their better (not melo so much but durant)

I hear you but at the end of the day Lebron gives effort on the defensive end. Melo and Durant dont give their best effort and u cant excuse that cuz they both can be better defenders as a basketball fan I want to see maximum effort.

I think I answered this is my other post.

Basketball is mainly a team game defensively, the ? can be somewhat overrated sometimes when it comes to comparing Lebron and say Durant. If Lebron's impact on the defensive end was THAT MUCH BETTER .

Might be funny but if you gonna ignore the obvious to be funny, I can dig that.

Lebrons biggest fan on the message board makes a thread, about 2 other small forwards (he could have listed Blake, or Dirk, or other top players that dont play D), saying how dare they be considered as best player in the league when they dont play D. I broke down and explained why in detail, and now I'm obsessing about Lebron...

*shrugs*. If thats really how he feels.

usually the best one on one defenders are defensive spcialists who are extremely limited on offense. most great offensive players who "excel" on defense are overrated defensively. its all relative, compared to the other 'no defensive effort offensive chuckers', because they'll actually give some effort.

none of those superstars named are true "lockdown defenders". they have games where they limit another offensive player, but just as often they'll get torched by another great offensive player.

nowadays... team defense is what shuts down great offensive players, not one on one.

wow ! this ? said something smart

Thats what I'm saying. I watched Durant stand by the paint all night when they played the Mavericks. Wasn't guarding a soul all night. Hes the reason Carter got that shot off with his old ass. Then Durant hits the game winning shot and everyone crowned him the king. Now if you want to crown him, then crown his ass! But he is who they thought he was. And they let him off the hook!

smh! KD left Vince cuz he had to help defend Dirk.
