ayo fyi for all the people working on their CCNA..the price is going up tomorrow 1/16 from $250 to $295

if you take them individually they are going up to $150. why? i have no clue. i think cause way too many people are beginning to go the cisco route. (thats what ive heard)

i think if you want to take it soon you can still get it for the lesser price if you book your exams today. good luck

depends on what your goals are. do you want to get into the business side of IT or the technical side?

it really doesnt matter tho...i know cats with english degrees and history degrees who are systems/network admins/engineers. its really how you go about getting your technical training/experience.

Which ever one you can learn the most from..... *dead serious*

I graduated from college and didn't even understand what a GUI based environment was. And the degree was in computers too. I can say the education sucked and the only thing good about the school was the friends I made. You can learn more from Books A Million or YouTube than some colleges. It was an HBCU like 95% black and most of the instructors were foreign w/ names you couldn't pronounce. Just try to get a good education mane, even if you have to go to tech school....

To be honest, it was something that I had to think about after I graduated high school. People ask for it, yet if you go the certification and experience route, you could get there too. College is a waste of money but I think the things I've learned around college helped me to understand whats out there in terms of IT careers, different programming languages, etc.

best decision i ever made. took advantage of the school's relationships with employers and it was a wrap after that.

Getting your first job is the hardest part. Once you get your foot in somewhere, then you just have to plan your career. Figure out which direction you want to go (programmer, database, networking, etc) then just specialize down that path. What I'd recommend is going on Dice.com, looking up what job title you ultimately want (for me it was sr. network engineer back when I started), and look at what skills, education, and certifications that job requires. Then start learning about all of that ? at home.

I don't know anyone who jumped straight into security. Usually it's start in help desk, move on to networking, finish off in security. That's the route I took anyway. Networking and security go hand in hand, so you'll get some security experience anyway.

i went straight into network security from quality assurance / web specialist.

Planning on finishing the last CCNP exam end of this month and going for the written mid to late March, everything is on schedule for the lab in August. I can't wait for this ? to be over.

The job I got a few weeks back fell through, ? was talking about only 1 month contract, but I gotta new one already paying 130k. Plus I've gotten a couple e-mails for remote work at home jobs paying between 50-60/hr each. I'm gonna try to do all 3 and just cake up like crazy. ? around and make 500k this year lol.

I am still studying. Work has been keeping me way too busy over the past few weeks but I am still learning some VoIP stuff when I can. I am going to Cisco Live in June and I want to take the voice lab while I am down there. That means I have to pass the CCIE written between now and then. I probably will make an attempt in April sometime. Basically still grinding with six figure salary dreams.

INE is pretty good. Brian Mcgahan is pretty good. Not like Jeremy from CBT nuggets but way more detailed.

Man, I had downloaded it from a Megaupload type site like a few months back. I found a premium account online, logged in with it, and just download the rar files over night. I don't even remember where I got it from, I just Googled INE ccie security and started clicking links.
