Not too long ago, pictures of an alleged Neo Geo portable popped up, with many quick to call the device fake and/or Photoshopped. Well, naysayers, the NeoGeo X is real, and it's coming in just a few months.
Joystiq reports that Tommo Inc and Blaze will be releasing the handheld, complete with a 3.5-inch LCD display, SD card support, A/V output, and a headphone port.
To make sure that you're ready to get your game on when the NeoGeo X is released, the following 20 classic NeoGeo titles come pre-loaded:
Art of Fighting
Baseball Stars
Cyber Lip
Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury Special
Football Frenzy
King of the Monsters
Last Resort
League Bowling
Magician Lord
Metal Slug
Mutation Nation
Nam 1975
Samurai Showdown
Sengoku
Super Sidekicks
The King of Fighters '94
The Ultimate 11
Top Players Golf

Tommo Inc will be handling distribution in the States, with the NeoGeo X slated for a release during the second quarter of 2012. Pricing has yet to be announced, but there is a sign up form where you can subscribe for additional information as it is released.

lol ? it, if the specs are right and they'll drop some fresh KOF/FF games + some 3rd party support than I'm coppin this....I know the Vita is a better machine overall, but it's SNK mayneeeeee

man if they had online play and a way cheaper price tag I might consider, Neo Geo got alot of gems thats fun multiplayer

this is the strangest release in a while though, it's supposedly droppin in a few months, but no news about the hardware specs or any games/gameplay vids at all. The 3DS and Vita are just starting to warm up etc so far this thing got flop written all over lol -
Looks clean but if all it does is play games and with no online, Id say anything over $200 is too much and even that might be pushing it for some.

what I was thinking, I dunno if the Vita is hack proof but ppl are prolly gonna make Neo Geo emulators with the ability for online play rendering this thing useless -
But is this retro games only? I'm hoping we;re getting some fresh games, seems like it's new hardware....the button layout seems to be made for more than 8/16 bit games

I dunno seems like a waste scone i have most of the neo geo games on my pc. but if they were commin out with a shitload of new games then it be a diff story

They seriously flipped they ? if they think they can get away with selling it at that price,especially when the GP2x Caanoo, Dingoo A320, Pandora, and even the PSP can do what this thing does (play neo geo games) at a FRACTION of the price. I'd pay 100 TOPS for it if it does other stuff only cause it's a new Neo Geo Pocket, and I ? LOVED The Neo Geo Pocket.

The Neo Geo Pocket was slept on PERIOD. System's entire catalog was FIRE, and it still has, in my opinion, the greatest joystick ever applied to a handheld device.
