Bynum has been the man for the last several games and Kobe is unwilling to let Bynum be the man"

"I'm a Laker fan. Kobe never takes responsiblity for the loss. He's blaming offensive rebounds and not his 7-25 shooting. Kobe thinks he is 21 and can do what he use to do. He needs to realize that he is not what he use to be. It is one thing to be confident and another to be delusional. He is both and this is why the Lakers are losing. Kobe will not allow anyone else to win the game. Bynum has been the man for the last several games and Kobe is unwilling to let Bynum be the man." - Gjbsmile (Youtube comment)

He's not delusional. He's stubborn and always have been. That may have helped him become one of the greats in his earlier in his career but its hurting his team right now.

^^^^ his stans dont wanna admit dat no reason he shoulda had 25 shots while bynum had 15

Interesting I sorta thinking the same thing. The Lakers have the advantages with their bigs and they need to be fed more touches late in games.

kobe is still the best scorer on the team so why should the offense flow through another player .....

kobe does need to relax and take more efficient shots though ...

On pace to shoot his worst percentage from the field since the 97-98 season, yet he is still taking the most shots in the league. ? doesn't add up.

i agree with this , Bynum on offense has been damn near unstoppable and he not getting enouh shots , it's clear as day nobody can really stop bynum this season

Kobe to worried about the scoring title for his age and want to show everyone his age aint a factor , yea Kobe is the better "Scorer" but but thats only cuz he's taking the most shots , Bynum has taken his game to a new level this year bynum should be getting a lot more shots ..

Kobe PPG this season is so overrated to me cuz he's taking damn near 24 shots a game to get to 28 , and his % ? stinks ...take enough shots you'll eventually get the points ..

He takes some of the WOAT shots , Let bynum get a lot of shots , u dont have to make Bynum the #1 option of course not but nights u see Bynum is on fire and just cant be stopped feed him the ? ball all game .

Naw bynum decision making can be turrible at times ...his bball iq ain't the highest.....the more touches he gets the more double teams which in turn leads to more to's....he just needs to continue to feed off gasol kobe and sessions.....

Co sign. Bynum is the lakers mvp, kobe is busy ball hogging as usual and shooting the lakers out of games. He has to be the most selfish player of all time. His fg% is terrible. Meanwhile Bynum has the 2nd best fg percentage in the league. Mike brown needs to check kobe again

    Thoughts?

Whoever that is clearly doesn't watch Lakers games. Bynum is not ready to be in the spotlight yet simply because he can't handle double-teams. Every time he gets double-teamed, he turns the ball over or takes a bad shot. Not to mention, he's still developing his game both mentally and physically.

Imagine Bynum as the number 1 guy. Dude would be shooting 3's, shooting mid-ranges and everything else he sucks at. He has no discipline whatsoever. Plus his FT% is too wack to be the go-to-go guy in the clutch. All you have to do is foul him and he's guaranteed to miss at least one.

... Whoever made that comment in the OP is what you call a casual fan who goes by STRICTLY stats. People like that aren't capable of observing the game with a keen eye. Everything for them is, "check that stats." These guys actually think it's a valid argument to compare FG% between Centers and Guards. Then when you think the position comparison is bad enough, they go ahead and compare stats between people with different roles and different positions.

Tell you what....if bynum ? tries to shoot another 3 pointer like he's a shooting guard brown is gonna bench his ass for the rest of the game

When you have a big ego and a lot of pride added with having to become the #2 option when you have always been the #1 it will cause problems and impact overall team success.

Andrew Bynum is shooting 58% on 13 shots a game
Bricks is shooting 42% on 23 shots a game, his career low is 41% and that was his rookie year.

anybody who knows anything about Basket Ball, would understand that it's better to play inside out, getting Bynum established 1st in games would do wonders for the lakers. Especially when u have 2 skilled big men.

you kobe stans are the worst nd so non objective last night was a perfect example of Kobe needing to fall back he's 7-25 while Bynum had 25 on 10-15 how hard is it to say "man my favorite player is playin ineffective at the moment" yall need to own up nd just keep it real

Kobe got this he is just in a slump. I can't lie he is taking too many shots but a lot of those shots come from being low in the shot clock with no other options. I think he needs to rest and someone needs to tell him to chill because with their starting 5 they can compete with anybody but it starts with Kobe. The thing is he used to hit those same shots all the time but his age is catching up to him. He is still a great 1 on 1 player but he shouldn't have to take those shots.
Bynum is good as the 2nd option because he just isn't ready to be #1. He still has problem with double teams and giving a consistent effort on defense.
