The only thing I disagree with is the idea that the goo reacts to intent. The worms got in the goo, it mutated them into hyper-violent predators. If anything, I think the stuff just exists to evolve into a more powerful entity. And since my theater was experiencing projector issues, I don't know what the beginning of the movie actually consisted of, but if it's the Engineer drinking the goo, I thought that was a suicide.

Furthermore, I don't understand the chest-bursted dead engineers. The goo disintegrated the one in the beginning, but his shipmates were piled up and dead. If they were all about accepting death, why run in the first place? What happened to what came out of their chests? I suppose the creatures could've died in the 2,000 years since the incident and left no remains. And if the Engineers are angry Space Jesus got crucified, how does that lead to the incident on the LV-223 light years away? Doesn't make sense unless the implication is that the Engineers lost sight of the principle and became bent on revenge.

This is one of those movies that'll probably be infinitely better with director commentary. It's good now, better with the theories, but it's best won't be seen until Ridley says what's what and puts everything to bed.

Weren't the worms created from the goo though? Yet the goo didn't react to David. Also the chamber was activated when they came into the room. You remember the over zealous doctor was quick to take off his helmet because of the oxygen levels. But in doing so, human sweat and carbon exchange "activated" the chamber, causing the goo to come out of the capsules. The goo basically reacted to any lifeform depending on situation, atmosphere, bio-analysis of host and such. Remember the acid from the worm turned that one dude basically into an adverse form of the engineer. The goo mixture within the doctor, which mixed with his sperm, helped create the octupus like creature. All because it mimic the sperm like qualities. They weren't accepting death, I think. I don't think the alien murals were a sign of worship either. It's no different than a scientist with his lab and pictures of his biological host studies. You cannot stop life, it always adapts. When they created that substance, it proved to outsmart them by adapting to their confined situation.

Makes a lot of sense. I saw the flick with a guy who's been a big alien fan for years and he says the biggest strength of the xenomorphs (learned that word from him) is that they can adapt and survive in nearly any condition. They have evolved to withstand the harshest of conditions and continue to adapt.

That was the dumbest part of the movie to me. She's going to that planet to get an explanation ... from ? (s). Put that in perspective. That's like a child making a demand of their parents as sperm/egg cells. Sequel should open with them blowing her ship out of the sky for being so disrespectful.

I'm happy a lot of you enjoyed it cause I really did. I think this is the type of film that years later people are going to be talking about. It probably won't get it's respect until Ridley passes away sadly. I can't wait for Part 2. Also my review is strictly how Prometheus ties into the Alien Franchise and universe. I didn't get into the religious and spiritaul themes that the movies goes into. It's going to be interesting to see where they go with a sequel. With Shaw and David going to the home world of the Space Jockey's things could get ugly again. But not all Space Jockey's were huge solider like. Here's a photo from a deleted scene, some of them look like monks:

Nice drop @rapmastermind. I guess they deleted it just to give the engineers a more menacing look? I do agree...the movie was advanced. Not your typical eye candy violent porn horror ? . Me and da fam sat for an hour discussing the various topics touched on by the movie.

I can't wait for a sequel either. Lol, I want to see that dumb ? get murdered. C'mon ma, you just were in the chamber with dude trying to reason and the engineer went the ? off! So what the ? you think is going to happen when you show up at their crib?? Lol!

Thought it was great. Visual feast. The film critic that compared the opening to a IMAX nature documentary was on point.

Man, I could seriously just watch a whole movie of David ? around passing time on the ship. How dope was that? Fassbender is just incredible. That dude is gonna be one of the Greatest actors of the next couple decades. Just wait till they cast dude as a mob boss or some ? lol.

I liked how the one guy said " I like rocks, Im not here to see dead bodies, Im headed back to the ship" I was starting to like that guy cause he had some sense. But then how did they get lost when they were only like 15 min from the ship? lol Then out of the blue you want to go pet a foreign species instead of getting away as far as you can from it?

I thought that was hilarious. Ya'll naggas display all this fine survival instinct and then.......
Ya'll decide not only to spend the night in the most foreboding place possible, yo ? decides to pet some ultra creepy-ass alien worm. Like, you wouldn't THINK of doing that ? to a King Cobra or a Rattlesnake back home wtf is wrong with you. ? , if you saw a non-poisonous garden snake that big, you'd still probably leave that thing alone. But no, you think that thing is "cute" as it hisses at you. Ol' escape-from-Jason-by-running-into-the-woods ass ? lol.

David was on strict orders from the company to do anything and everything to understand what was on that planet. But it's against David programming to hurt humans so even though he got the orders he didn't poision Holloway until he got him to answer a question about "What would you do to find answers" one he said, "Anything and Everything" that gave David the ok to experiment.

ahhhhhhh okay, that was the one thing I really couldn't figure out, I forgot about the "anything" line.

DEAD @ bolded, but that idiot trying to cuddle with a creature exhibiting clear threat behavior is still dumber imo. Wasn't that muhfucka supposd to a be a biologist? lmao

To get ready for "Prometheus", I am re watching "The Alien Trilogy" (Alien: R and AVP series need not apply).

Ewwwww, why would you bother w/ Alien 3 lol, a textbook example on how a studio can royally ? the dog while making a blockbuster. They had like 30 different scripts, 5 different story ideas, ALL OF WHICH sounded waaaaaaaay hotter than what they went with. I mean.....

Version 1: "an epic battle with alien warriors mass produced by the expatriated Earthlings."

    WHAT

Version 2: "the Aliens also exhibit an airborne virulent contagion" "eight marine vs alien battle scenes"

    WHAT

Version 3: "an all out battle with the townsfolk facing hordes of Alien Warriors, yet it also contains an arguably higher level of horror than the previous films"

    WHAT

Version 4: "inmates on death row were mock executed in a gas chamber, while actually being kept alive and being used as bait in experiments with the Alien. Examples included breach testing, where the Alien would be videotaped using scientific high speed cameras as it searched for - and found - the weakest part of a structure with a human bait inside, broke through and attacked the victim."

    WHAT

And I'll just post a pic for Version 5......

    Yeah.
