Assad sounds like a ? , doesn't speak without charisma/authority. That being said, his father ordered the killing of like 25/35 thousand people in a matter of months few decades back, Assad's fam/people behind him are no joke.

The rebels consist of various different groups though, some want non violent revolution and change others want change through violence and have totally different philosophies regarding about how the country should be ruled and who have the right to live there. It isn't as black and white as the big bad government against the freedom fighting rebels.

They say that atleast half of the Syrians(Christians.alavites and so on) wish that Assad stays because they fear that the more extremist groups will take over once Assad is gone, which is plausible offcourse, look at whats happining in Lybia right now....

a lot of different plights, offcourse the rebels are killin civilians, they're in war. It's complicated mannn

considering that the purpose is to make civilians who don't have the means to resist it back down in fear? Assad.

look up his father and Hama and tell me if it was terrorists that did what you're about to look up to frame Assad senior.
