Console and handheld versions coming this fall.

Activision has announced that a video game tie-in for Wreck-It Ralph is headed to Nintendo platforms this fall. The game will be headed to Wii, 3DS and DS and will debut “in conjunction with” the film’s November 2nd theatrical release (though whether that specifically means the game will also be out on the 2nd hasn’t been confirmed).

Wreck-It Ralph will be an arcade-style side-scroller that continues the events of the film, cycling through the various games of the movie’s universe including Sugar Rush, Hero's Duty, and Fix-It Felix, Jr. Players will control both Ralph and Fix-It Felix, destroying things with Ralph or fixing things with Felix. The Wii version will feature two-player co-op, allowing you to switch between Ralph and Felix to collect Hero Medals.

The film was announced last year and follows the story of Ralph, an arcade villain who’s become sick of playing the same part in the game he’s inhabited for years. Ralph begins jumping through other games, meeting famous video game characters along the way including Bowser, Dr. Robotnik, Street Fighter’s M. Bison, Zangief and Chun-Li and even Pac-Man’s Clyde. The inclusion of Bowser may be the reason the video game version is exclusive to Nintendo platforms, though whether or not the Mario Bros. villain will make an appearance in the game remains to be seen.

While we don’t know which characters we’ll see in the game quite yet, check out our guide to the familiar faces in Wreck-It Ralph for a better idea of the cameos you might be able to expect.
