No prep. Everyone below tertiary cosmic abstract level. I'll start...

Odin
Also would love to see how Thanos would have faired against Pre-Crisis Mongul (senior) or Hunter/Prey Doomsday

Thanos is pretty much that bridge between high end top tier and skyfather. right now i can't think of anyone in that group that could beat him. Odin would get 10/10 though.

Onslaught, Scarlet Witch, Franklin Richards, Legion(probably not), Surfer(probably not), Dr. Strange depending on prep, Blackheart, Mephisto, Dormammu, Dr. Doom(just off of his prep, smarts,+ magic)

I remember back in the day, Captain Marvel used to go at it with Thanos. But now, I dunno if he could survive 5 minutes with him.

    Him nor Adam Warlock.

agree except Mephisto/Blackheart, they are pretty low level in the grand scheme of things

Thanos is always a bit too overpowered in vs. battles IMO.

Most cosmic or near cosmic level heroes should be able to take him down, Thanos just spends so much time ? with his opponents that the battle probably won't even occur.

With Surfers Powerset Shouldn't He Be Able To Mop The Floor Thanos? (Although He Doesn't)

At least three out of ten? Like jaxn said, Thanos pretty much defines the tier between top tier and skyfather. He would crush characters like Thor, Surfer, Supes, and Hulk barring extenuating circumstances, but would get crushed by characters like Odin and Tyrant. Hunter/Prey Doomsday would give him fits sans battle field removal. I think Pre-Crisis Mongul would beat him down more often than not. Mephisto from his higher showings would beat school him, too.

What constitutes a victory? There aren't too many people under the given conditions that that could put Thanos down for the count. Odid didn't even do it in their fight. It would have to be someone with a power or powers that Thanos couldn't deal with.

Tough question. Strictly Marvel you would need Skyfather to Abstract level characters to truly give him an asswhooping. But for arguments sake the guys that have a good/remote shot.

Galactus- many don't consider him an Abstract level though he is. Matter of fact, fully fed he beats Thanos every rip.

    Magneto-if written to full potential.

    Franklin Richards
    Apok
    Tyrant

    DC Characters

    Anti Monitor
    Spectre
    Superman
    Superboy Prime
    Darkseid
    Imperiex
    Hal Jordan????

Gotta say Hell no to Superman, Manhunter, and Sentry. Weaknesses or not they stand no chance against Odin level ? , which Thanos is. they take literally 0/infinite.

depends what Superman you're talking about though. Superman 1,000,000 would wipe the floor with Thanos. besides 1,000,000 the next strongest version - Superman Prime - would take Thanos at least 3/10 no doubt

Stop it. When people say "Superman" they are usually referring to Clark Kent of New Earth, and the Golden Superman-Prime is significantly more powerful than 1,000,000.

Thanos can't beat Galactus. He pretty much put all his power into simply knocking Galactus down. That said, Galactus is not an abstract. He's often described as the most powerful living being in the Marvel Universe. The Abstracts aren't really "living" beings in the standard physical sense.
