SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport woman has been arrested and charged with knowingly infecting another person with the virus that causes AIDS.

Andria Johnson, 31, is charged with intentional exposure of the AIDS virus, after a man she had consensual sex with became positive for ? .

Police say after he learned she had the virus, he got tested and went to police on July 1. Following an investigation by the Shreveport Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit, Johnson was arrested on July 24.

Johnson is being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on $25,287.50 bond.

Louisiana state law prohibits the intentional exposure of another to any acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) virus through sexual contact without the knowing and lawful consent of the victim.
