lol..I read the same article yesterday, but today I'm like wtf? Really ? ?

There are tons of people being treated for sicknesses caused by their own hand, fatness is no different.

    smh.

Let's also stop treating smokers, it will help them stop smoking.

Let's stop treating drinkers, it will help them stop drinking.

Let's stop treating crazy people, it will help them learn to stop being nuts.

I mean come on. You don't want to look at and interract with fat people, don't become a doctor.

they have special facilities for all the above parties listed...

if you have a severe drinking problem they refer you to a specialist, a sever smoking problem: a specialist, you're super ? crazy...they got ? for that too....

so i mean if you too big for their equipment, why not refer you to someone who can accommodate your size and have expertise dealing with extra large people????

I can agree with that du, IF she were open to seeing them initially and then referring them to someone who could better fit their needs..no pun intended.

A primary care physician is who you see for your initial visit.

You can't treat a fat person for a cold or a rash or something small? What special equipment does that require?

    it's not fuckery...

i think it's fuckery when people always want special treatment...i loathe entitlement issues....these chicks are too big to be using certain equipment at certain offices... so they need to go to places where they can be properly treated...so they're mad because of that?

that's ? .....i can't stand when people make accommodations cuz they're scared to tell the truth....

people get hurt, and equipment gets broke whe big ass people come to this office....this is not made up ? ... this is fact..

should the office upgrade their equipment?? no??

the patient just needs to go somewhere else...i can't envision a scenario in this case where the doctor should have to be the one to make the extra accommodations..

especially given that every person who has insurance has a long ass list of doctors who take their insurance...and your insurance company tells you to select the doctor that's the absolute best fit for you....

reason why i switched doctors several times..

if i'm not feeling ym doctor, i find anotherone..

i'm not going to forcemy doctor to be the way i want them be..i'll take my business elsewhere

How is it special treatment to want to go see a doctor about something totally un-fat related?

Like I said, IF the ailment calls for 'special treatment' then at that point refer them over to Dr. McFatkins.

But for a general practicioner to make a public statement like that is ridiculous.

And then making the cut off at 200lbs? What equipment can't handle that?

She got the Playskool doctors office or what?

kat....the number of doctor's offices in any given area are far too great to be obsessive about going to that particular office...

i can't see how anyone would even WANT to be her patient after hearing that ? ...especially if you're over weight...

i'd me more worried about something going wrong, her making a false diagnosis, or incompetence as a whole than trying to force the chick to take me in.....

i ain't forcing nobody to take me...? like that (who's your doctor) is far too sensitive to have ANY major concerns with them...so the whole thing to me is null in void....

last thing i need to be thinking about is "what if they ? me up on purpose cuz they mad about taking me as a ptient"

? that.. i'll find someone else...

i mean i honestly think it's moreso due to the equipment than anything, but either way... i can't see the reason to get upset... just keep it moving

if my lady came home after her doctor told her that i'd be like

"look babe if you wanna mask up and beat the ? up in the parking lot, i got your back, i'll even hold her down.... but i honestly don't feel comfortable with her servicing you... i just can't trust her"

this is definitely one of those things that it's easy to blow outta proportion...

    NFL players have specialists.....

i'm a 6'0" 275 lbs black man with high blood pressure, and i changed doctor's twice in the past year, cuz i just felt my last 2 doctors were incapable of properly diagnosing me....

the fact is no two doctor's are the same.. if you're unhappy with the one you got...change them...? 's really simple....

"if all doctor's thought like this" makes no sense because what one won't do another will jump at the opportunity..that's the very nature of a competitive field...

her logic is the equipment and the staffing are under extra strain that can be deemed unnecessary especially when she's referring to facilities that have stronger equipment and better staffing to accommodate people of plus sizes...

basically it's like saying why force yourself into a smaller outfit when one your size is readily available??

Unless someone has some kind of glandular or thyroid condition, it's not a sickness.

Some would even argue that there are people with those same glandular conditions who aren't overweight or obese.

I don't know of many "sicknesses" that can be cured by just changing your behavior.

Calories in/calories out (burning more calories than you take in) would cure most people who have this "sickness."
