There was "Off The Wall" which was the album that took Michael from the Jackson 5 to solo star. Then there was "Thriller" that made Michael the biggest star in the world. Sadly in the shadow of both albums was his 1987 release "Bad". How do you follow up the Biggest selling album of all time? Well "Bad" did just that being the 1st album in History to have 5 #1 hits on it. "Bad" had more hit songs than both "Thriller' and "Off the Wall". Today is the 25th Anniversary of that album and I think people need to understand how Classic it is. There isn't a single weak song on the album:
Bad - 5 MICS
The way you make me feel - 5 MICS
Speed Demon - 4 MICS
Liberian Girl - 5 MICS
Just Good Friends - 5 MICS
Another Part of Me - 5 MICS
Man In the Mirror - 5 MICS
I just can't stop loving You - 5 MICS
? Diana - 5 MICS
Smooth Criminal -5 MICS
Leave Me Alone - 5 MICS
The only song you can throw rocks at is "Speed Demon" and even that went hard. Overall the album is a Timeless Classic. It's the 5th Highest selling album of all time Worldwide with over 40 Million Copies sold. Michael followed up "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" with another Classic. Salute to Bad:

Man Mike gave us classic back to back to back to back
-
All that re-mix ? with the techno is wack as ? .
-
MJ is the GOAT
-
Like that grunge '80s feel to it
-
I agree speed demon is the letdown on this classic, I was never a fan of I just can't stop loving you either, this is a classic 5/5. not his most underrated though, dangerous is my favourite mj release, my fav album of all time
Dangerous > Thriller > Bad > Off the wall -

I agree. I like Afrojack as a DJ but I don't know about these weak remixes. They did the same thing on the "Thriller 25" when Black Eye Peas dropped those garbage remixes. The only remix that honored Michael was KanYe's "Billie Jean" remix.

this is the album when rumors just started to get out of control. Mike was musically flawless up until this point. BAD was huge album and tour but "Off The Wall' & "Thriller" are superior in my opinion. This album had nothing but hits on it and it ended Jackson streak of classic albums. Dangerous & HIStory are gems in the world of music also tho.

Classic album.

I stay jammin' speed demon, Foh.
-
His invincible album sucked though. I mean, I did really like a few cuts, but it just seemed of poor quality, especially for him.

Speed Demon be going off, my brother learned how to play the guitar listening to my Bad cd.
Off The Wall, Thriller, BAD, Dangerous, HIStory, Blood On The Dance Floor and Invincible are classics that I still listen to every other week. Invincible was so slept on and hell even MICHAEL was a good album. -

Yo u got to get the deluxe Bad 25 package, Mike got songs that he did from the Bad session that I been playing all day.
Don't Be Messin Round, I'm So Blue, Song Groove aka Abortion Papers, Free, Price of Fame and Al Capone and the two I heard already, Street Walker and Fly Away and also not on the deluxe, Carousel.
Mike had hits that he didn't even release, that is crazy and it sounds better then half the ? out now.

I can't front. I played every song you mentioned, and they were wack. Mike sounded great, but these beats were just awful. The tracks remind me of scene filler from a Beverly Hills Cop movie. -

It was the 80's man, it had that sound of that era -
I wanna cop that Bad 25th Edition with the extra songs and live performance but ? is like $40 and Mike ain't even eating off it.

if you break down those lyrics to another part of me it's a really deep song.

Guy it's worth the cop. If you get it from Target you get 3 LP's and 2 DVD's. It's an amazing set and has ton of demo's and unreleased songs on Disc 2. Michael Left off "Bad" tracks were tough. The Live performance DVD shows you why MJ was the GOAT, he performed like no other entertainer. The last DVD is the Bad Videos, my only complaint is 2 of the videos (Smooth Criminal and Bad) are the shorten versions, they needed to include the FULL versions, Michael Made Mini-movies. Overall amazing set. 25 years later, it was a Top 10 Debut on Billboard Charts with 30k sold. The fact that a 25 year old LP can be Top 10 after selling that many copies shows you how Classic this album is. Based on Worldwide certifications it went Gold around the world opening week. "Bad" is currently #5 on the highest selling albums of all time worldwide list. MJ did the impossible which is follow up the biggest album of all time with making another album that is Classic and one of the Biggest of all time.
