Attack of the Show and X-Play Cancelled by G4

Farewell, Attack of the Show and X-Play. TVGuide.com is reporting that the two long-running G4 series are coming to an end, as the cable undergoes a rebranding that will turn away from its geek-friendly past.
The final episodes of both will air in December, and leading up to the finale will be rotating guest co-hosts joining current AOTS hosts Candace Bailey and Sara Underwood and X-Play hosts Morgan Webb and Blair Herter, including John Barrowman, Michael Ian Black, Josh Myers, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel and Horatio Sanz.
TVGuide.com says both shows will have a series of farewell episodes that will include former guests and hosts returning, along with re-airing favorite segments from the past, including AOTS’s coverage of San Diego Comic-Con and X-Play’s E3 coverage.
"Attack of the Show and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture," G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky tells TV Guide. "With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close."
TVGuide.com says there is talk that G4 may be looking to partner with Esquire or another men’s magazine like GQ as it moves forward into “more upscale, sophisticated guy TV space.” The network may be renamed G4Men, among other possibilities.

i remember when this ? channel was zdtv. steadily it moved from its original theme of video games and totally abandoned it by playing cops and cheaters all ? day. good riddance.

I use to watch x play all the time. But when it became that faggy japan obstacle course being played majority of the day i said ? it.

techtv and the screen savers was the ? back in the day though. -
There is no other reason to watch g4 besides that. Maybe they should just go to IGN or something and do weekly youtube shows or some ? . Very Sad.

That show was actually entertaining to me....that Japanese announcer used to have me in tears -
g4 stopped being a gaming channel years ago. Don't even give a damn anymore.

These are the only two shows worth watching on the channel. Just a bunch of Cheaters & Cops reruns, Ninja Warrior and mostly old action movies now.

I love Ninja Warrior, I dont really watch it anymore since they tried to Americanize but the original is dope

Used to watch AOTS for Layla Kayleigh and Olivia Munn.
Used to watch X-Play a bit too, but they would always ? -ride big name games and give them 4 outta 5 and ? . -

? became stale years ago. It was only a matter of time. -
They better have an eye candy special, and give us that Sara Underwood nude bike ride uncensored.

I started watching this show strictly for Olivia Munn and Layla Kayleigh,when Olivia Munn left it was a wrap then
Layla Kayleigh didn't get offered a new contract. It was only a matter of time before Kevin P dipped. -
seriously tho spiketv better pick up on that all day e3 coverage... Thats the superbowl of video gaming events.

Idk. I kinda just stumbled on that one. I was making a run to the creative department and they were taking down the G4 pictures. I'm like " Hey why y'all taking down them pictures?" They just said " G4's about to get rid of these shows due to reworking of the channel."
