Vampire Hunter D is better than Bloodlust. The latter isnt a bad movie, but it doesnt surpass the first anime movie.

I've read 10 of the VHD books. The first anime is from the first book and bloodlust is the third book.
I think both movies do justice to their book counterparts. That said, you can't begin to understand how little a ? D gives about anything until you ready the books. Of course he's after vampires, but if humans step to him and talk ? he will ? them without a thought too. I'ts almost funny to have him as the protagonist because he has little to no personality. Basically he gets by on his trillness in combat and the fact that everybody he comes across want to ? him. And I do mean everybody. The author makes a point of noting that even men get a little excited whenever he's around. -
so pretty much count dracula is his father
