On December 18th, Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer announced via Twitter that actor Hugh Jackman was officially on board to reprise the role of Wolverine for the next X-Men movie from FOX. And although confirming the actor's return to the role that made him famous with comic fans all over the world i a big step, it still did not explain the extent of his role in the film. Yesterday, however, we were given a bit more insight into just how crucial Jackman will be to the film's plot by the actor himself.

In his tweet, Jackman indicates that he will be working with the "new cast" for more than "four hours," and if you've read the Days of Future Past story arc, or WOLVERINE: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST prelude, you know that the character had a significant role in both. It will certainly be interesting to see the extent of the role that the actor will play, and just how Singer plans to integrate this story into the current X-Men movie universe. What do you think of the news? Would you like to see Wolverine in the Days of Future Past movie? Do you think he should play a significant role in the upcoming film?

Little Mor info on "The Wolverine"

The Wolverine news floodgates are opening, and we've learned quite a bit about the movie the past few weeks, which won't release until July 26, 2013. In a recent interview with Parade, Hugh Jackman let a bit more information out about the highly anticipated upcoming film.

As you may know, The Wolverine takes place in Japan, but lots of people were questioning where in the X-Men movie timeline it will take place. We now have a definitive answer:

"The movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him.
So, The Wolverine takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. He dealt with a lot of pain and heartache in X3, especially with Jean, so he's gone through a lot, but who is this character who has a way to hurt him?"

Jackman also revealed one other thing in the interview:

"there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it."

Could this be Jean Grey? It was rumored a couple months ago that Famke Janssen was in Australia to do a cameo as Jean Grey. Looks like we'll have to wait and see for The Wolverine to be released July 26, 2013.

What do you guys think of the news? What X-Men character would you like to see cameo in this film?
