Why is White America so paranoid about seemingly EVERYTHING?

Think on it: the KKK, the NRA, various news outlets, they all seem to based their work around FEAR. Being afraid of the next threat, whether it is the black man, the terrorists, socialist activities, violence in game and movies, porn taking over, marriage getting destroyed by ? , etc.

Anyone care to share thoughts on this?

theres something called the sun people, Ice people theory. Europeans had to live in harsh conditions with scarce resources where they had to fight nature and each other just to survive. This historical experience may have shaped their view of the world

I think this country as a whole is ruled by fear. News outlets are fear mongers. So is big business. Keeps the cash flowing. Just so happens that white people are the represented more in the media so you think it's only them.

Just my theory. Feel free to punch holes in it. Haven't thought too hard about it.

    Think on it: the KKK-
in this case it seems you're correct, but this is also a collection of mayonnaise-eating, sister-? yokels, so what do you expect? someone might want to steal that car up on blocks in their front yard. and not just someone ... some MINORITY
    -the NRA-
this argument would make more sense if we weren't talking about a gun rights organization fussing in the face of people trying to restrict people's gun rights. it's kind of what happens.
    -various news outlets
eh, i think more than fear, they want sensational things, period. incidentally, fear plays into that.

You are either in growth or in fear. If the people are constantly worried about some threat they are not spending time growing.

Fear is a very basic instinct and easy to prey upon. Fear sells and it's not hard to scare many individuals into why they should be fearful.

Conservatives tend to be more fearful about change and there are more white conservatives than non-white so it probably seems like white America is more fearful.

Personally I think most Americans want to left alone and don't give a ? but the ? do a good job of making themselves heard and being an annoyance.
