Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

This is the next film by the Coens (whom i consider to be one of the best american directors still working today) to be released in december of this year. But an early showing was screened at the Cannes film festival which was met with rave reviews. It stars Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, and up and comer Oscar Isaac who also takes on the leading role. It loosely follows the life of Dave van Rock. an individual who was responsible for the renaissance of the folk music scene in New York. he went on to influence the likes of Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Ive heard his name thrown around by musicians at times and unfortunately im not up on him that much. But based on this trailer it does seem like a rather interesting film. It features many scenes where music (most of which is played live) is amalgamated into the storyline. The last film they did where the music was front and center in a similar way was O Brother Where Art Thou. And i enjoyed that one so this one might turn out to be good as well.
