    Surprised COD and Halo didn't make the list. Maybe the vid explained why but gotta wait til I reach home to watch it.

    I'm guessing it's because they meant franchises that originated with this generation of consoles. Then again if that's the case I don't know why they included the latest iteration of the Super Mario franchise as great as it was either cause it's still part of the Super Mario series.

    Can't say I disagree with the rest either though.

    Mario and Portal are not new. Mario is Mario no matter if it is Galaxy or Paper Mario. Wii Sports should not be on the list, but everything else is cool. LBP should be up there instead or something else like Dragon Age.

    Even if they want to use the technicality of Paper Mario being it's own thing. The Super Mario series had the 3 NES games (Super Mario Bros trilogy), the 2 SNES games (Super Mario World 1& 2), Super Mario 64 & Super Mario Sunshine preceding Galaxy on the previous consoles. Setting aside any biases Wii Sports was way more of a killer app than LBP was though.

    Yea, its new franchises only.

    Super Mario Galaxy was included anyway because its ? amazing. They basically put it on the list and said "And...what?"

    Portal came out in 08 I think on xbla it was from this gen.

    Also portal is goat!

    When ? riding goes wrong.....batman is good but it's only two games deep but assassin creed is my ? the storyline is crazy I need to finish AC3

    I'm not a fan myself, but as far as new franchises go...Assassin's Creed crushed the buildings this gen. To go from a new, pretty good game to annual, high quality installments pushing 7 million a year is impressive. Especially considering its not a FPS and multiplayer is not the focus.

    these have the most lasting cultural effect.. and they all are cross plat. i like that gears is in the discussion tho.. they are the frontrunners for current gen TPS and molded the way for wave/survival type of game modes

    Quality over quantity. Yeah they move units and, like I said, the games are solid but there's other better new franchises with better games.
