I know there is a GoT thread already, but this little scene right here is so crucial it has to be isolated.

when I first saw it I immediately thought of all the so called Black scholars and all the information they have on white people and how gassed up ? feel by this info.

The phrase knowledge is power been one of those black proverbs in existence the last thirty years. Little Finger thinks this too. Cersei shows him why that isn't necessarily so.

It's more of power of influence vs power of information. What little finger learned that day was that influence can supersede power the power of information when it is used incorrectly. All things have a time and place. Each role, position, ability, weapon and thinking are tools and when you forget that other weapons can be used as tools, you tend to forget.

But this is a very good thread or it can be. Knowledge is useless in the hands of a fool, but to the wise its a very powerful weapon and knowledge of influence is very powerful to that regardless of how much information and knowledge and resources those who are ? for position, servitude, loyalty and etc is useless because their values are different from the wise and intelligent and you need to know that difference.

Please take your pick sir. There are different references to power. Power is power is in the eyes of Cersei, hence why her father doesn't think she is as smart as she claims. Her power is in her family's name, her husband, son due to influential power of a name and wealth and prestige. Not character, fighting ability, supernatural and etc.

No. Each one of those definitions is a subdivision of the whole.
Power is the ability to do all parts or delegate parts.

Each subdivision leads into the other.

Hence why black people have no power because as a whole we believe that the strongest avenue is the vote, or power of influence. Cersei shows why that isn't the case.

That was the power of influential power. It was a subset, no one man can have total power, that would make him at ? . Her name is her power and knowledge of the game is her power.

I don't want to spoil but
as soon as her good name was done, she had no ? power left, she had no weapons at her disposal. That's why her father didn't find her that smart because she would realized she isn't resourceful at all while her younger brother was very resourceful. That's the difference between the two. Littlefinger is the most dangerous person because only he has what it took to bring civilizatioin even if it fell.

    Question;

Why do you think of all the laws they can change the 1St thing the Republicans are going after so hard are voting laws? And gerrymandered so many districts ?

As you and many others have said black people have no power with our vote
So why are all these bending over backwards to suddenly change voting laws that only seem to directly effect/affect minorities????

knowledge often leads to power and sustains power but it is not power itself this scene is an example of power in it's most brutal and bare form: the ability to destroy something or not at one's own discretion.

You will learn how much important that is. It was the whole point of the influence talk, with knowledge and spreading influence and soon it can grow to over two continents and thus power sets in and wealth.

To keep you distracted. Simple. While you are busy fighting for an ineffectual right people in higher chambers are designing and executing plans decades in advance.

The so called power of the vote is playing checkers while everyone else is playing chess.
Sure they spent some time and energy flipping over board and scattering your pieces, but nothing compared to the lost time and effort you'll spend gathering said scattered pieces and rearranging them on a board for a game that's completely obsolete.

Meanwhile they are carrying on playing chess while you struggle smirk and smug dumbly unaware of your lack of position.

it is the game within the game.

This may be true of some version of america, but the government that exists presently uses the guile and wit of a little finger and the frontal assault of a lannister.

America respects overt power and strength but america also deals in knowledge spying secrets covert action.

I have not read the books so my knowledge is confined to the show, but this little interaction taught little finger a lesson.
Cersei could have easily ended little finger there and all his knowledge and secrets would have been for naught.

Little finger learned that knowledge may be something but raw power it is not. Knowledge is a conduit to power a means of collecting acquiring and positioning oneself. Which is what believe is the lesson little finger learned that day.

I already told you why. It's a simple concept of social engineering. Voting is no more valid than a suggestion box tacked to the door of head management.

Massive studies have been conducted that show that as long as people feel they have a voice they will remain docile even though nothing changes.

Black people are fighting for the right to put a suggestion in a box that the people in charge don't read one way or the other.social engineering. I suggest you read some zbigniew zebrinski and noam chomsky. Then my metaphors will be clear to you. Read some edward bernays while you're at it.

When people say pseudo to me it's dog whistle for the master of the mundane.

Power ultimately resides with the people, not the elected. If America as a whole wanted to prove this, they should stay away from the elections.

    to answer the thread

    power is NOT power

and only a simpleton would think it's really is simple as that

which is why Cersei father pulled her card
when he told her to her face "you are not as smart is you think you are...."

the ? had no true power, other than what was afforded her through her son, brother and father

does a cell phone have power?

    yeah?

    take out the battery,
now a does a cell phone have power?
