For those with kids who are no longer with their child's/kids' other half, please explain what happened? Since it didn't work out the first time, trying with somebody else, it'll be harder.

I'm asking this because women have all these standards for what they want in a person so how come they're no longer with the person they procreated with? Did they have those standards back then or until after the ? up?
