Does anyone knows what may be the issue? I ran disk checks, system restored, and my GB is low but not badly. I have a Compaq laptop, and yes I understand they stop making those but I need it for school till I get me a new one in November.
Man this is really annoying, hope the IC may know the solution for this because I don't wanna lose many important files.

Compaq is the problem...

IS it overheating?

IS it overheating?
wouldn't that just lead to it shutting down?
U need to free up space on your disk. The more space the better imo
Probably a specific app doing this though. What are you running when this happens? Install anything recently that may be causing this? -
Might want to also buy a 16 or 32 GB USB to back up your more important files.
(just get an external HD if you can afford one) -
I notice it freezes up when I try to create more space and uninstall large programs. Took me a day to uninstall a program with 826 mbs because the laptop was running slow. It normally freezes up but I got lucky I guess. I tried to uninstall more but it crossed up again.
Also it loves to do launch startup repairs ...and I also run alot of music on there from FL studio. But its the slowest it ever been. -
If you updated your graphics card driver that could be the problem.

Download and install Malwarebytes. Allow it to do a full scan on the machine. If your copy of FL Studio or any VST plugins came from a torrent, you more than likely have trojans out the ass on your machine. Clear them out and you'll see an increase in speed. -

cosign on the malwarebytes but you should do a quick scan first. its much broader than a full scan and better in this case since he doesn't know what he's looking for. -

um, you have that backwards, the full scan is far more in-depth than the quick scan. -

nev mind, i was thinking that a full scan only scans selected files. i just checked and it does whole drives. you right. -
Yeah, but if it's not overheating enough to cause a shutdown, it can cause a computer to run slower if a computer is consistently running hot. It was just one suggestion I was throwing out there for him to look in to before peeps came in with more experience and guidance.
Never know what can cause freezes, best not to overlook anything. -
@silverfoxx
Did you upgrade to the latest Windows? maybe you need downgrade. Certain older comps cant handle newer versions for Window. also check if you at least maxed out your RAM. -
