Im currently trying to to find a laptop that favors music production and animation programs.
I just changed majors to Digital Media Technology Informatics and I wanna make sure have a laptop that's affordable that I won't have any trouble with when I use programs like Adobe, Pro Tools, FL Studio, etc.
I was looking at HP envy 17 or Asus G750 notebook.
Any other good ones? Spending range is 700-1100.

Go with the HP

I'm a PC user, but it's my understanding that Macs are generally better for artistic type endeavors.

The original Surface Pro is $599. That's a real good deal to be honest. It's not as powerful as the average laptop, but it's more portable and has a digitizer. It's perfect for a student or someone who likes to do work on the go. I'm tempted to get it, but I already have a laptop I'm happy with so I'm having a hard time justifying spending $600 on a companion tablet.
