Yes. Tropical Zodiac has been incorrect for more than a thousand years if I remember correctly.

You have to look at your natal chart to get the full picture. You can't just go by the Sun sign. Everybody's astrological makeup is comprised of all the different signs of the zodiac, but we all have the three main signs to consider. Those signs are the Sun sign, Moon sign, and the Ascendant or Rising sign. Astrology is lot more complicated and complex than most people think it is.

It's a nice form of distraction but most people will act out what they read as a way to identify with it the pro's and con's of their own behavior. They read they are Leo so it gives excuse to act as a Leo good or bad, for and example. Yes the big difference is your zodiac is not your natal chart however in the end I believe people just use it as a source of validation.

I think it should be viewed as with everything else, a piece of a greater puzzle. So while someone 'fits' a zodiac sign, it is only a small fragment of their whole being. There are a lot of factors that go into making a mind, more factors than planets.

I'm not gonna say I "swear" by it. but its hard to disbelieve anything that has to do with the moon, sun and stars.. plus a lot of this info is what I've always called "scary accurate".
