I always heard he was dissing Ma$e on this song....

One of my favorite Jay Z songs. Vol 1 was a dope album.

F#ck Jay-Z! -Tupac

This that arrogant and unfuckwithable Jay from back in the day.
Album is a close classic. Jay said he cant even listen to the album cause he is mad today that he messed it up by tryin to get on the radio with the two commercial songs. -
I just never liked his style good thing from what I hear he not to good..
(Evil azz b#tch got they brains witchcrafted to like his sorry azz flow and buy his ? ) -
Nobody raps like this anymore. Why?
Favorite line: "Your single was 99 cents, mine was 4 bucks". -

It's sad that the average 20 year old doesn't even know this album exists. I feel like it's Jay's "Lost Tapes" even though "I Know What Girls Like" is one of the worst songs ever made.
The intro ranks as one of my top 10 favorite Jay joints:
Shoot up the whole block then the iron I toss
Come back with the clique playin Diana Ross
I'm the boss, and this is how it's gon be"
-
You rappin ass nggas is funny to me. Sellin records bein you, but still wanna be me'
Jay z used talk that ? before he evn really blew..ffwd to now everything he said is more true. -

I don't think there's any rapper less credible than Ma$e. I mean he really had to work at that title.
-

I remember hearing that line was a jab at Nas. I heard that the "Ain't No ? /Dead President" single was $4.00 and the "If I Ruled the World" single was $0.99. And Nas's single sold more units. In fact, I think "If I Ruled The World" was #1 on the pop charts in part because it was only $.99 and people were buying it.
[* Edit]However, I heard that from an unreliable source over the internet, so maybe I should qualify that first. -

Jay couldn't throw shots at Nas at that point in time. -
