Mario is the best game franchise ever made. I played almost all of them, I didn't like New Super Mario Bros, but this guy on Youtube must be dumb if he think people are sick of Mario.

Nothing but truth and Mario is far from the best game franchise ever made. Zelda and Metroid are better.

If I went into a store to pick up the new Mario game I'd have no idea which one to get.

Prepare for the inevitable industry crash. Once first person shooters, stale EA Sports games, and GTA become all that is left, the industry will crash.

Mario home console games tend to sell well over time. Galaxy was an exception and not the rule because of the Wii install base. These aren't games people buy up in 2 months and get it over with. Mario games are games that people buy over years throughout a generation. This is why it's still the best selling video game franchise in industry history despite sales numbers dipping from game to game just like the sales of Nintendo home platforms. Why isn't it selling consoles? who says it isn't when Wii U sales increased over 300% after it's release?

Honestly New Super Mario Bros. U is at 2.5 million sold at the moment. So I definitely do see 3D World a game with even greater critical and fan acclaim hitting the million mark within the next quarter at the rate it's been selling (it's at 325,392 units at the moment). The thing is you can't expect Mario to sell units on the level the brodude games do because Mario games don't appeal to the brodude audience.

It doesn't mean that they don't have an audience of their own of course just that you can't expect the same people frothing at the mouth over random sports game or a new CoD or Battlefield to even look in Mario's direction. Conversely you can't expect a Mario home console game to move units in the same way in light of all that competition.

Why would they? Those games are better and closer to reality.

People here are doing the Indian Rain Dance with the Wii U's shortcomings and say that Mario and co. needs to die off or go to Sony consoles. There are people literally happy with a company that built the foundations of the gaming industry failing with going their own direction.

People pay a lot of hard earned money for these consoles. They shouldn't have to accept a subpar last gen machine.

They have every right to tell a billion dollar company that their brick is a ? . Maybe they'll stop trying to dress #oldtech up with lame gimmicks.

How many are sold/bundled with the console?

I don't know but what difference does that make? the allure of the bundle is the Mario game or else anyone who bought that bundle would've bought a different one.

C/S. Like its been said countless times, Nintendo has been dropping the ball hardware and software wise since N64. Appealing to one demographic like fools while the smart target all.

Shooters and sports games, the ? ? Nintendo had all that smh

It's sad what Nintendo has done with Mario over the years smh.
I haven't seen anyone on here wanting Mario to die off tho.

@ the bold, Nintendo brought that on themselves. And you talk about built the foundation. The NES, SNES, Gameboy era were the glory days for nintendo. Those systems built the foundation, not the ? y'all been playing since 96.

Without Nintendo, the industry will copy one another until people will wake up and just want prettier graphics over gameplay. What new gameplay features does PS4 offer that can't be done on PS3? Not visuals, just gameplay.
