What if a law was passed that made sex before marriage punishable by death?

Do you think it would have positive/negative effects on our society?

How do u think this would affect the black community?

A lot of ? would be dead. What about the people that dont want to get married?
It would just cause a lot of sweeping things under the rug. It would solve nothing.

This law could and would only be passed in Bible Belt states (AL, MS, TX, GA, SC, etc) where backwoods Bible thumpers want less government but live telling you what you can and cannot do in your personal life

Rich and powerfull people will keep on having sex out of wedlock. The poor will be harassed by this law.

Jalousy - snitching will rise : i dont like you, then ill report you as a fornicator.take a look at the so called islamic states that apply this rule.

For the sake of the hypothetical...lets say it is passed and enforced all throughout the United States.

    Lol.

Stop trying to avoid the question by rationalizing that it is unlikely to happen. This is a hypothetical question. So hypothetically, if this was a law that was enforced, why do u think the outcome would be?

If it was really enforced..,Marriage/divorce rates would sky rocket...Birth rates would plumit...The cost of getting married would most likely increase...Folk in low income areas would find a way to bootleg marriage...

It would turn sex into the next big wave of prohibition. Where there is a way, man will find a way.

Sex would turn into a back alley, rusty hanger in cooch kinda thing.. The very act of sex turned into something deplorable, lowdown, and inexcusable. Sneaking around, hoping to find someone that may know someone.

As far as the ramifications of what would happen in the black community? A great majority of us would be relegated to isolation camps... With no ? given.

    Overall, a negative impact.

Im assuming that if premarital sex is outlawed, so will contraception and abortions for non married people. This would lead to a lot of back room abortions and a lot of hanger abortions, because if your life is on the line you will do anything. Not to mention the STDs. Instead of solving some of the problems that go along with premartial sex you are just sweeping them under the rug and acting like they dont exist anymore. Bottom line is you cant stop people from ? .

I'll play along. So we're talking premarital ? prohibition here? People already get married for all of the wrong reasons, so why not add another?. Infidelity would likely increase. The divorce rate would probably increase. The number of nigguhs on death row will definitely increase. I can't realistically see anything positive coming from it. History has shown us that making desired items illegal does not eliminate the want/need/market for those desired things.

The amount of people who get married as teens would sky rocket...as would the numbers of divorces. The lengths of marriages would be so damn short it'd be pointless to even be married probably forcing the law to be done away with.
