The story didn't say what kind of "sexual activity" they engaged in. It may have been less than sex. And I doubt dude knew it was video recorded, if it was. Knowingly doing that to protect your reputation makes no sense.
I think some straight males would do that, if in their mind the pics would ruin their life. -

He (victim) knew he was sleeping with a man. The "female" set up some blackmail type ? and the ? got shook and played along and took that ? . -
The victim probably took some ? /weird ass pictures instead of regular pics. Which completes the circle of him being a ? the whole time.
