I enjoy the tracks yall posted but lets be honest, what is the difference between him and every producer that uses souls samples heavily...? another kanye clone...but even he wasn the first.

Apollo is more raw, he also gets his joints right off vinyl. It doesn't have the polished radio friendly sounds.

He more like Pete Rock to me

Apollo is FAAAR from a mere Kanye clone

    if you can't see that,
there really is no real answer to your question that you'll be content with

    to put it in perceptive,
it'll be like some yippy hipster asking what's the difference between UGK & Outkast?

of course YOU know the answer......but still you just :-w :-<
at even having to waste time explaining it

I didn't move it, but all things Apollo Brown belong here... the sad fact is, there's nobody here to continue this 'dead ass sub-forum' despite it being one of the illest on the board when I was running things.

Apollo Brown is one of the illest producers, saw and spoke with Wordsworth when I saw Masta Ace last year. Apollo produced this track off Wordsworth's latest album, freaked when I heard it live:

Sorry fam. I am working two jobs at the minute - one's teaching full time, whilst the other is making short films for friends. I'm working on flipping the second into a business in the next couple of years.

I will check out The Brown Tape this evening. I'm missing some dope hip hop in my life. Went to a club this weekend where the DJ would play great records. This time, it was all a selection of the worst hip hop from years gone by. I had Nas' Murder the DJ track in my head the whole time I was there.

Anyways, I miss the community and hope that The Essence will take off once again.

Checked Pharaohe's most recent single this morning - decent but not as good as his last effort.

Listened to any tracks recently that you can recommend @achewon87‌ ???

@Mainstream_rap_sucks see the above paragraph. I apologise as I've enjoyed running the board for nearly a decade.

Time has passed since then... I feel like a vet with very few posters still around who used to discuss hip hop like I would. Nowadays, I'm baffled by the direction of hip hop and haven't felt as connected to it as I used to. Doesn't mean that I don't still have love for it. I still rap every line to Biggie's verses or get hyped when I hear a track from the underground.

Ultimately, I think I'm getting old and have different priorities.

Would be great to see someone post like I used to. The board needs to take off once again.
