So we all know cars depreciate in value over the years.
But there are rare cars that stand the test of time if maintained well and kept pristine over the years, they end up selling for ton of money for future collectors. Lots of old sports cars like mustang, stingray, Ashton martins that does this.
I recently read that 2014 corvette stingray has been listed as one of the future collectible classic. I drive a 2012 honda civic at the moment but been looking for a status symbol/ toy car to ride and enjoy from time to time, would this car be a good purchase?
If this is a possibility, I'll most likely keep the honda as my daily ride to work and groceries and shopping and whatnot, and whip out stingray for special events with peeps and getaways with my girl. Always a fan of audi and Mercedes but this is making me think twice now, if they all guzzle gas, why not something that might pay off in the future.

2005-06 Ford GT, it alread hasn't lost any of its value. Actually you'd be lucky to find one now in good shape for MSRP.

Aston Martin*

I'm thinking .... 2010 Mercedes-Benz cls550 will turn collectors item & the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe
-

I do think the G8 GXP's will hold there value if kept low mileage and in good shape. Might even be able to sell it for around MSRP, but we're talking 10-20 years from now. -

The regular g8 wont be collectable u gunna have to have a low miles g8 gxp with like everything. As for the new stingray dont let these fools hype u up its just another vette; they're gunna make tens of thousands of that car and the zo6 & zr1 versions are gunna be worth more anyway

i like the mercedes w124 E class. hard to find a decent car though from around 1985. most guys treat their cars like ? .

This car is nearly 30 years old. If you can find a really good one from between 1985-1992, i'd say keep it.
or the convertible

Had a 1988 Mercedes SEL300 wish I never totalled that car, they don't build em like they used to, and I have a feeling that it would be worth a lot one day. It was in perfect condition to

Not all W124's will appreciate. Only one will:
The Mercedes Benz 500E is considered by pretty much everyone as a modern classic Benz. This was Mercedes' high performance W124 before they bought and incorporated AMG into the company. Only made for 4 years, just over 10000 were made and only 1500 of those made their way to the US. Every time I've seen one for sale it gets snatched up quick as ? and they're expensive as ? . For the price you could buy a gently used recent S-Class or a slightly older AMG S-Class or E-Class (actually... you could buy an S55 and E55 and have change left over). -
I am seriously considering getting one of these.. It'll be a classic soon..

These are what I consider classic / collectible.
Diesel Benz
Saab 900 (Aero)
95 Impalla SS Stock
Buick Roadster Wagon Woodgrain
International Harvester from Dude Wheres my Car

If you got an original 95-96 impala SS, hold it, and take care of it. If you have this year's version of the stingray vette... Keep it. Keep the miles low, them corvette ? are a cult.... Speaking of cults, if you have this year's hellcat... Mopar has got to be the most expensive ? i've ever seen when it's classic status. Them mopar dudes are the model of brand loyalty.
