I believe that Valeria Richards and Rachel Summers are the same person, or the same manifestation of Franklin Richards imagination.
They have the same creator, they were both called Marvel girl and they essentially have the same powers with the ability to suppress Franklin's abilities as well.
I am not saying that she is for sure, but I think its worth a thought. If he had to create the perfect companion as a small boy its logical that he would create a sibling as opposed to a girlfriend, because they can be around more frequently and romance and love isn't of the child mind.
When he is older Rachel Summers is his wife this is a much more suitable time in life to have an ultimate companion.
I think she is his way of creating the perfect companion throughout his life. They are both preservers (rachel of mutants, franklin of humanity this is what galactus told him his role would be when he evolves into a cosmic power that will become a necessary part of the multiverse)

that's an interesting theory. It's not out of the realm of possiblity for Franklin to create a companion. It would just get weird when you bring in continuity.
