So, anyone into Old religions here?

Ive just learned that Poseidon was First whorshipped in modern day Libya. And that it was once common that Amon(ancient egyptian/berber ? ) were whorshipped as One and the same(by the likes of Alexander the great for example).

It seems like ancient egyptian and Berber cultures shared Same religious connections(Osiris,Isis, Amon). The oldest mummy ever found was in Libya.

the Atlas Mountains(from the Greek myths, Titan, father of Gaia). Are located in Morocco(mostly) and Heracles(hercules) travelled through Northern Afrika.

There was a holy deity called Afika in Africa.

it would be awesome if any of you could post book recommendations(especially from people who lived in the ancient eras).

so from the times 10.000bc up untill the First year of Christ.

Im really eager to learn about this ancient Gods and cultures, I will try to post more later on.

You're going to find the rabbit hole is deeper than you think. As "christian" as most ? try to act, all they know is the romanticized european bible. They don't know the history of the religion itself and are too well trained to even pay it any mind. It's like sometimes the church itself will mock ignorance of black people by hiding in plane sight.

Most main stream religions and their off shoots owe their elements to ancient Africa. As much of what they got came from Egypt and Egyptians patterned their gods after what they considered the "holy land"... it's either Sudan or Ethiopa... I can't remember too specific.

you could consider me well acquainted with the old religions. yes there is a correspondence between zeus & amun. amun was worshipped heavily in the old nubian empire, along with dionysus. the gods all represent archetypal forces on many different levels. however in essence they are all facets of the same formless creator. there are many similarities between these gods because its just different cultures trying to respresent the same thing in their own way. for example, tehuti (thoths egyptian name) corresponds almost exactly to the hellenistic hermes, they perform a very similar function when compared in each cultures mythos.
