I have been to a million battle forums read hundreds of comics. Swamp Thing, Mephisto, Silver Surfer, flash, Deathstroke, and Kyle Rayner green lantern are the most ridiculously overhyped in battle settings....
So I am creating a battle to see where you guys hold Swamp thing in your standings....who wins?

If Captain Planet wasn't weak to toxic waste, he would beat the ? outta swamp thing. To swamps defense, he has infinity amount of strength through nature, if you take him out his element, he weak as ? .

How do you take a ? like Swamp Thing out of his environment. He just inhabits another sentient being and merges with the essence of its planet.

Swamp Thing is not a man turned plant. He is a sentient representation of the entire planet itself. His body is everything not Alec Holland's body that's buried in the ground. He is everywhere at once and could regenerate and multiply within seconds. The full on avatar of the Green. He has powers that people who never read Alan Moore and by proxy Scott Snyder and especially Charles Soule's work now since it references Moore's work wouldn't really comprehend.
He could never die. He will just live within the green forever. This is probably why you saw people say Onslaught couldn't beat him. Swamp Thing could always come back into the world any world in any universe as long as there is plant life around. The one way to do it would be to break his tether to the Green but that would be difficult for even a reality ? because the green itself is a force of omnipotence. He'll be challenged.
The truth is there are so many differences in the way the supernatural and cosmic landscape of DC and Marvel are approached by writers that these kind of match ups never really sync.
