The only decision worse than that was Hallie Berry as Cat Woman.

I dunno. I think if the story itself would have played closer to the comic, instead of taking so many liberties, Halle would have made a good Selina Kyle. Halle berry isn't a good actress in general so it's not hard to pick on her.
Ryan Reynolds sucked as Hal Jordan too but then again he also sucks in general.
The winner should be Topher Grace as Eddie Brock, that instantly stained Spider-Man 3, might as well had cast Ryan Seacrest or Carson Daly to be Venom. Such a huge disappointment I know people go still haven't seen SM3 just because of this. -

In hindsight Tobey Maguire is a wack Spidey. Although I enjoyed the first one when it dropped.

Clooney, Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone are all butt cheeks.

I liked Tobeu as Spidey though, it fit the "unlikely hero"/nerd vibe they played up in his movies. So for that particular role he was a good choice.
He became wack when he had to do the black Spider-Man because Tobey didn't have the range to pull off a mean streak. -
